क्रिकेट में पहली बार भारत बनाम जापान का एतिहासिक मैच होगा इस तारीख को

जापान क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन (JCA) और भारतीय क्रिकेट कंट्रोल बोर्ड (BCCI) को यह बताते हुए खुशी हो रही है कि दोनों देशों की पुरुष टीमें भारत-जापान डिप्लोमैटिक रिलेशन की 75वीं सालगिरह के जश्न को शुरू करने के लिए एक टी 20 इंटरनेशनल मैच खेलेंगी। सुज़ुकी कप मंगलवार, 22 सितंबर को टोचिगी प्रीफेक्चर के सानो इंटरनेशनल क्रिकेट ग्राउंड में होगा।

यह मैच “स्पोर्ट 75” का पहला कदम होगा, यह एक पहल है जो जापानी प्रधानमंत्री साने ताकाइची और भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी के बीच एक समिट के दौरान हुए समझौते से निकली है और इसका मकसद खेल के क्षेत्र में भारत और जापान के बीच लोगों के लेन-देन और सहयोग को बढ़ावा देना है।

बीसीसीआई के सचिव देवजीत सैकिया ने कहा: “बीसीसीआई इस ऐतिहासिक मौके का हिस्सा बनकर बहुत खुश है, जब भारत और जापान की पुरुष टीमें जापान में एक खास टी 20 इंटरनेशनल मैच के लिए एक साथ आ रही हैं।” सैकिया ने कहा, “भारत और जापान के बीच एक मजबूत और लंबे समय से चले आ रहे रिश्ते और दोस्ती है, और हमें खुशी है कि क्रिकेट दोनों देशों के बीच द्विपक्षीय संबंधों के 75 साल पूरे होने के जश्न का हिस्सा होगा, और हम इस मैच को मुमकिन बनाने के लिए जापान क्रिकेट एसोसिएशन (जेसीए) को उनकी कोशिशों के लिए धन्यवाद देते हैं।

बीसीसीआई का मानना है कि क्रिकेट की ग्रोथ उसके पारंपरिक इलाकों से आगे बढ़नी चाहिए, और दुनिया के सबसे बड़े क्रिकेट बोर्ड के तौर पर, हम उस ग्रोथ में योगदान देने की अपनी ज़िम्मेदारी समझते हैं। बीसीसीआई जापान में क्रिकेट को और मजबूत करने और आने वाले सालों में इस रिश्ते को और मजबूत करने के लिए जेसीए के साथ मिलकर काम करेगा।” जेसीए के सीईओ नाओकी मियाजी ने कहा: “मौजूदा वर्ल्ड चैंपियंस को जापान में बुलाना हमारे एसोसिएशन के लिए एक अहम पल है। यह सच में एक यादगार मौका होगा।”

Maruti Suzuki plans to add smaller EVs to its India line-up once it has developed the charging infrastructure needed to support them. At the company’s annual general meeting, Managing director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said, “As soon as our EV charging will be ready in India, we will add smaller EVs in our portfolio.”

Maruti Suzuki’s charging network plans

Maruti Suzuki has partnered with 13 charge-point operators and has already installed more than 2,000 exclusive charging points across over 1,100 cities. The company is also working to improve charging coverage on highways and expressways, while its plan for the top 100 cities calls for chargers at key locations around 5-10km apart.

The carmaker has set a larger target of more than 1,00,000 charging points across India by the end of this decade. The company has linked the introduction of smaller EVs to the expansion of this charging network.

Maruti currently sells the e Vitara as its only EV in India, while competitors Tata Motors and JSW MG Motor India already have smaller electric models on sale.

Maruti Suzuki expands EV exports

Maruti Suzuki is also expanding its electric vehicle exports. “We have started our EV exports to Europe first. Now, we are the largest exporter of EVs from India, with about 90 percent share in total EV exports from India,” he said. Takeuchi said the company exports vehicles to nearly 120 countries and shipped more than 4.4 lakh vehicles last year, a 34 percent increase overall. 

Japan has become Maruti’s second-largest market, according to Takeuchi, while the company expects trade agreements to create further export opportunities in markets including the UK, Germany and France.

ICE, hybrid and CNG investments to continue

Maruti Suzuki will continue investing in internal-combustion engine, hybrid and CNG vehicles alongside EVs. Takeuchi said ICE vehicles would remain an important part of the company’s business, with compressed biogas also expected to support their continued demand.

“Investment in ICE facilities will continue to be an integral part of our manufacturing process,” he said. The company is designing its new manufacturing facilities to build different types of vehicles on the same production line, allowing production to be adjusted as demand changes. “In our new plants, we can make EVs, hybrid vehicles, CNG and ICE vehicles on the same line,” Takeuchi said.

मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने जापानी कंपनियों के निवेश और पर्यटन को बढ़ावा देने के उद्देश्य से सोमवार को इन्वेस्ट यूपी व अन्य विभागों के अधिकारियों की बैठक ली। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि पहली बार 240 लोगों के प्रतिनिधिमंडल का प्रदेश में आगमन हुआ। इस यात्रा में जापान व उत्तर प्रदेश के बीच सकारात्मक माहौल का सृजन हुआ। जापान से आए अतिथियों ने उत्तर प्रदेश में आए सकारात्मक बदलावों की सराहना की। ऐसे में जापान व उत्तर प्रदेश के बीच निरंतर संवाद कर निवेश के माध्यम से युवाओं को रोजगार से जोड़ा जाए। 

 

बैठक में मुख्यमंत्री जी को जापान के प्रतिनिधिमंडल की ओर से किए गए सभी एमओयू के बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी दी गई। बताया गया कि इस दौरे का मुख्य फोकस निवेश, मैन्युफैक्चरिंग, ग्रीन एनर्जी, तकनीक, कौशल विकास, शिक्षा और पर्यटन में सहयोग बढ़ाने पर रहा।

 

मुख्यमंत्री जी ने यीडा के अंतर्गत जापानी सिटी के लिए भूमि अधिग्रहण के संबंध में जानकारी ली। अधिकारियों ने अवगत कराया कि 500 एकड़ में से 350 एकड़ से अधिक भूमि का अधिग्रहण पूरा किया जा चुका है। मुख्यमंत्री जी ने इस कार्य को जल्द पूरा करने के निर्देश दिए। 

 

मुख्यमंत्री जी ने कहा कि जापान में सितंबर, अक्टूबर व दिसंबर में होने वाले विभिन्न वैश्विक आयोजन में उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रतिनिधिमंडल को भी भेजा जाए। इसमें मंत्रियों, जनप्रतिनिधियों, अधिकारियों, उद्योगपतियों के साथ ही संबंधित क्षेत्र के विशेषज्ञों को भी शामिल किया जाए। 

 

मुख्यमंत्री जी ने कहा कि जापानी भाषा के प्रशिक्षण तथा स्किल डेवलपमेंट के कार्यक्रमों को तेजी से आगे बढ़ाया जाए। यामानाशी प्रांत सहित जापान के विभिन्न क्षेत्रों में प्रदेश के युवाओं के लिए रोजगार की संभावनाओं को सुदृढ़ किया जाए। 

 

मुख्यमंत्री जी ने कहा कि इन्वेस्ट यूपी में अलग से यामानाशी जापान डेस्क बनाई जाए। इसके जरिए निरंतर संवाद होता रहे। उन्होंने हर तीसरे महीने इसकी प्रोग्रेस रिपोर्ट भी लेने का निर्देश दिया। 

 

मुख्यमंत्री जी ने कहा कि जापानी पर्यटकों को उत्तर प्रदेश के बौद्ध स्थलों पर जाने के लिए अच्छी सुविधाएं दी जाएं। एक ऐसा रूट विकसित किया जाए, जिससे वे एक साथ सारनाथ, कुशीनगर, श्रावस्ती, कपिलवस्तु समेत अधिक से अधिक बौद्ध स्थलों का दर्शन कर सकें। 

 

मुख्यमंत्री जी ने निर्देश दिया कि आगामी ट्रेड शो में जापानी विशेषज्ञों के साथ विशेष सत्र आयोजित किए जाएं, जिससे युवाओं को उनके अनुभवों का लाभ प्राप्त हो सके।  मुख्यमंत्री जी ने कहाकि यूनेस्को ने सारनाथ की भांति जापान के नारा को विश्व धरोहर सूची में शामिल किया है। दोनों को परस्पर सांस्कृतिक रूप से जोड़ने के लिए कदम उठाए जाएं।  मुख्यमंत्री जी ने द्विपक्षीय पर्यटन को प्रोत्साहित करने के लिए उत्तर प्रदेश एवं यामानाशी प्रांत के टूर ऑपरेटरों के मध्य बढ़ावा देने हेतु आवश्यक कदम उठाने के भी निर्देश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि बौद्ध सर्किट में पर्यटन गतिविधियों को व्यापक स्तर पर प्रोत्साहित किया जाए।

Going by the amount of social media chatter around any NCAP test, you’d think India is one safety-obsessed nation. Awareness is rising, but safety is far from ingrained in our ethos like it is in, say, Japan. We all know the current state of road safety is appalling, but I’m not talking about driving manners or vehicle collisions or crash ratings. Of late, there’s another aspect of road safety that’s really been bothering me; the road itself and everything around it. 

During the rains in Mumbai last month, two girls were electrocuted in a water-logged street. Luckily, timely intervention from a passer-by and medical treatment at a hospital saved them. Last year, an auto-rickshaw driver had his head 

pierced by a falling iron rod from metro construction; thankfully emergency neurosurgery saved him too. Not everyone is so lucky though, if you can even call these accidents lucky. A concrete slab from an under-construction girder bridge fell onto a moving auto-rickshaw and car and resulted in one death and multiple injuries.

You would have read the horrific news of a 25-year-old biker in Delhi who died after his motorcycle plunged into an unbarricaded, 14-foot-deep construction pit dug up and left open. And it’s not just bikes; people have fallen into open manholes, flooded over with water, and lost their lives, and recently a 20-year-old student died after his car plunged into an open drain. Two years ago, a massive illegal billboard blew over and killed 17 people and injured over 75 others during heavy winds in Mumbai. This monsoon season, a tree collapsed onto a school bus and took the life of an 11-year-old child. 

This is the aspect of road safety that has been bothering me recently, not because car crashes and other accidents do not, but because these are all too often termed ‘freak accidents’ or ‘random happenings’. Nonsense! These are not freak incidents, but accidents caused by negligence and unaccountability. So many folks say, ‘oh, his/her time had come’. Again, nonsense. Would you say all those poor kids who died in Africa due to starvation died because their time had come? No. They died because of human action, or inaction. 

So, really, I write this column only to highlight this fact; to remind us all that it isn’t random. As the saying goes, ‘everything happens for a reason’. Here it’s callousness, from those in charge and from us. So, the next time you express outrage over a non-5-star NCAP-rated car, spare some words of outrage for these incidents too.

यूपी–जापान इन्वेस्टमेंट मीट 2026 के तहत जापानी प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने शुक्रवार को उत्तर प्रदेश की महिला सुरक्षा के लिए संचालित वीमेन पावर लाइन 1090 का दौरा किया। प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने यहां महिलाओं की सुरक्षा, शिकायतों पर त्वरित सहायता, काउंसलिंग और जागरूकता से जुड़ी व्यवस्थाओं को समझा। इस दौरान उत्तर प्रदेश के अधिकारियों और जापानी प्रतिनिधिमंडल के बीच महिला सुरक्षा, स्कूली स्तर पर जागरूकता, बच्चों को सुरक्षा संबंधी जानकारी देने और महिलाओं में आत्मविश्वास बढ़ाने के तरीकों पर विस्तार से अनुभव साझा किए गए।

 

दौरे के दौरान जापानी प्रतिनिधिमंडल को बताया गया कि वीमेन पावर लाइन 1090 महिलाओं को कठिन, भय या उत्पीड़न की स्थिति में सहायता उपलब्ध कराने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण व्यवस्था के रूप में कार्य करती है। प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने यह समझने में रुचि दिखाई कि किसी महिला की ओर से सहायता के लिए संपर्क किए जाने के बाद उसकी समस्या को किस तरह समझा जाता है और कैसे उस तक उचित सहायता पहुंचाई जाती है।

 

शिकायत से काउंसलिंग तक की प्रक्रिया समझी

जापानी प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने 1090 की कार्यप्रणाली को करीब से समझते हुए कॉल रिसीव करने से लेकर महिला की समस्या को समझने, आवश्यक काउंसलिंग उपलब्ध कराने और जरूरत के अनुसार संबंधित सहायता तंत्र से जोड़ने की प्रक्रिया की जानकारी ली। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि ऐसी परिस्थितियों में महिलाओं की बात ध्यानपूर्वक सुनना और उन्हें सहज एवं सुरक्षित माहौल उपलब्ध कराना बेहद महत्वपूर्ण होता है। विशेष रूप से काउंसलिंग और भावनात्मक सहयोग को लेकर चर्चा हुई। प्रतिनिधिमंडल को बताया गया कि कई बार महिलाएं डर, तनाव या झिझक के कारण अपनी बात खुलकर नहीं रख पातीं। ऐसे मामलों में प्रशिक्षित कर्मी संवेदनशीलता के साथ उनकी बात सुनते हैं, उनकी चिंताओं को समझते हैं और उन्हें उपयुक्त सहायता एवं मार्गदर्शन उपलब्ध कराने की दिशा में काम करते हैं।

 

स्कूलों में बचपन से सुरक्षा जागरूकता पर जोर

बैठक के दौरान महिला सुरक्षा को केवल शिकायत निवारण तक सीमित न रखते हुए प्रीवेंटिव अवेयरनेस पर भी चर्चा हुई। जापानी प्रतिनिधिमंडल और उत्तर प्रदेश के अधिकारियों ने स्कूलों में विद्यार्थियों को कम उम्र से ही सुरक्षा, अधिकारों और जरूरत पड़ने पर सहायता लेने के तरीकों के बारे में जागरूक करने की आवश्यकता पर विचार साझा किए। बच्चों में पांच वर्ष की आयु के बाद सुरक्षा संबंधी जागरूकता विकसित करने के तरीकों पर भी चर्चा हुई। इसमें बच्चों को अपनी सुरक्षा, संवाद करने और किसी कठिन परिस्थिति में भरोसेमंद व्यक्ति से मदद मांगने के बारे में सहज तरीके से जानकारी देने के दृष्टिकोण पर विचार किया गया।

 

जापान और यूपी के अनुभवों पर हुआ संवाद

जापानी प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने जापान में महिलाओं की सुरक्षा और जागरूकता से जुड़े कार्यक्रमों के बारे में अपने अनुभव साझा किए। वहीं उत्तर प्रदेश के अधिकारियों ने प्रदेश में संचालित महिला सुरक्षा और सहायता तंत्र की जानकारी दी। दोनों पक्षों ने माना कि जापान और उत्तर प्रदेश की सामाजिक एवं संस्थागत परिस्थितियां अलग हैं, इसलिए किसी भी मॉडल को स्थानीय परिस्थितियों के अनुरूप समझना और लागू करना आवश्यक है। इसके बावजूद महिला सुरक्षा, बच्चों में जागरूकता, प्रभावी संवाद, काउंसलिंग और महिलाओं को सहायता उपलब्ध कराने जैसे क्षेत्रों में अनुभवों का आदान-प्रदान दोनों पक्षों के लिए उपयोगी हो सकता है।

 

सुरक्षा से आत्मविश्वास और सशक्तीकरण तक

चर्चा में इस बात पर विशेष जोर दिया गया कि महिला सुरक्षा का उद्देश्य केवल किसी घटना के बाद सहायता उपलब्ध कराना नहीं, बल्कि महिलाओं में आत्मविश्वास और सुरक्षा की भावना विकसित करना भी है। जब महिलाएं यह महसूस करती हैं कि कठिन परिस्थिति में उन्हें समय पर सहायता मिल सकती है, तो वे अपनी समस्याओं को सामने रखने और अपने अधिकारों के लिए आवाज उठाने में अधिक सहज महसूस करती हैं। प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने माना कि महिला सुरक्षा, जागरूकता, काउंसलिंग और सहायता सेवाएं एक-दूसरे से जुड़ी हुई हैं। इन व्यवस्थाओं को मजबूत करने से महिलाओं की सामाजिक भागीदारी और आत्मनिर्भरता को भी बढ़ावा मिलता है।

 

अनुभवों के आदान-प्रदान से सहयोग की नई संभावनाएं

यूपी–जापान इन्वेस्टमेंट मीट 2026 के तहत हुआ यह दौरा भारत-जापान संबंधों के सामाजिक आयाम को मजबूत करने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण माना जा रहा है। महिला सुरक्षा और सशक्तीकरण जैसे विषयों पर दोनों पक्षों के बीच अनुभव साझा होने से भविष्य में जागरूकता, काउंसलिंग, बच्चों की सुरक्षा शिक्षा और महिला सहायता सेवाओं के क्षेत्र में सहयोग की नई संभावनाएं बन सकती हैं। जापानी प्रतिनिधिमंडल ने वीमेन पावर लाइन 1090 की व्यवस्था को समझते हुए उत्तर प्रदेश में महिलाओं की सुरक्षा और सहायता के लिए विकसित किए गए संस्थागत तंत्र की जानकारी हासिल की। वहीं इस संवाद से उत्तर प्रदेश के अधिकारियों को जापान में अपनाई जा रही महिला सुरक्षा और जागरूकता की विभिन्न कार्यप्रणालियों को समझने का अवसर मिला।

Uttar Pradesh-Japan Investment Meet-2026: उत्तर प्रदेश और जापान के बीच बढ़ती औद्योगिक साझेदारी ने बुधवार को बड़ी छलांग लगाई। नई दिल्ली के ताज पैलेस में आयोजित उत्तर प्रदेश-जापान निवेश सम्मेलन 2026 में एस्कॉर्ट्स कुबोटा लिमिटेड और मिंडा कॉरपोरेशन लिमिटेड के ₹3,195 करोड़ के प्रोजेक्ट की वर्चुअल ग्राउंड ब्रेकिंग की गई। यीडा क्षेत्र में लगने वाली इन परियोजनाओं से 10 हजार से अधिक रोजगार के अवसर सृजित होंगे। साथ ही प्रदेश में नई विनिर्माण क्षमताओं के विकास और जापानी निवेश को गति मिलेगी।

रोजगार के खुलेंगे अवसर

ट्रैक्टर और निर्माण उपकरण बनाने वाली एस्कॉर्ट्स कुबोटा लिमिटेड यीडा के सेक्टर-10 में ₹2,029 करोड़ का निवेश कर विनिर्माण इकाई स्थापित कर रही है। यहां ट्रैक्टर और उपकरण संबंधी उत्पादों का निर्माण किया जाएगा। परियोजना से 3,800 से अधिक लोगों को रोजगार के अवसर मिलने की उम्मीद है। मिंडा कॉरपोरेशन लिमिटेड भी यीडा में दो बड़े विनिर्माण प्रोजेक्ट स्थापित कर रही है। कंपनी इन परियोजनाओं में कुल ₹1,166 करोड़ का निवेश करेगी। इससे करीब 6,440 रोजगार के अवसर सृजित होंगे।

 

यीडा में औद्योगिक गतिविधियों के साथ सहायक उद्योगों और सप्लाई चेन के लिए भी पैदा होंगे नए अवसर

दोनों कंपनियों का कुल निवेश ₹3,195 करोड़ है और इनसे 10 हजार से अधिक रोजगार के अवसर तैयार होंगे। इन परियोजनाओं के जमीन पर उतरने से यीडा में औद्योगिक गतिविधियों के साथ सहायक उद्योगों और सप्लाई चेन के लिए भी नए अवसर पैदा होंगे। यह निवेश उत्तर प्रदेश और जापान के बीच मजबूत होते औद्योगिक रिश्तों और प्रदेश में जापानी कंपनियों के बढ़ते भरोसे का भी संकेत है।

यूपी-जापान इन्वेस्टमेंट मीट-2026 के उद्घाटन एवं दो महत्वपूर्ण परियोजनाओं की ग्राउंड ब्रेकिंग सेरेमनी में जापान और भारत के प्रमुख उद्योग समूहों ने उत्तर प्रदेश को निवेश, मैन्युफैक्चरिंग और रोजगार के क्षेत्र में तेजी से उभरता हुआ केंद्र बताया। समारोह में कुबोटा कॉरपोरेशन जापान और स्पार्क मिंडा कॉरपोरेशन लिमिटेड के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों ने उत्तर प्रदेश में अपने निवेश, साझेदारी के अनुभव और भविष्य की संभावनाओं को साझा किया।

आकाश मिंडा ने मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ के नेतृत्व की सराहना करते हुए कहा कि उनके नेतृत्व में उत्तर प्रदेश में औद्योगिकीकरण के लिए मजबूत फाउंडेशन तैयार हुआ है। प्रदेश में एक्सप्रेसवे, फ्रेट कॉरिडोर, इंडस्ट्रियल कॉरिडोर, वर्ल्ड क्लास लॉजिस्टिक इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, इंडस्ट्रियल पार्क, स्किल्ड मैनपावर और स्मार्ट टाउनशिप जैसी सुविधाओं का विस्तार हुआ है। उन्होंने हाल में संचालित नोएडा इंटरनेशनल एयरपोर्ट को भी प्रदेश के औद्योगिक विकास के लिए महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि बताया। उन्होंने कहा कि मुख्यमंत्री के नेतृत्व में ऐसी कई योजनाओं और परियोजनाओं को हकीकत में बदलते हुए देखा गया है, जो कुछ समय पहले तक केवल एक परिकल्पना मात्र थीं।

 

उत्तर प्रदेश में 9 हजार से ज्यादा लोगों को रोजगार

आकाश मिंडा ने बताया कि वह स्पार्क मिंडा ग्रुप का प्रतिनिधित्व कर रहे हैं और कंपनी ऑटोमोटिव मैन्युफैक्चरिंग के क्षेत्र में काम करती है। कंपनी की उत्तर प्रदेश में 40 वर्षों से अधिक समय से मौजूदगी है और वर्तमान में प्रदेश में 9,000 से अधिक लोगों को रोजगार दिया जा रहा है। उत्तर प्रदेश स्पार्क मिंडा के लिए बेहद महत्वपूर्ण राज्य है और कंपनी यहां अपनी मौजूदगी को कहीं बड़े स्तर पर विस्तार देने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।

 

एडवांस टेक्नोलॉजी से ईवी और इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स तक बढ़ेगा निवेश

आकाश मिंडा ने बताया कि कंपनी उत्तर प्रदेश में एडवांस टेक्नोलॉजी, मोटर पार्ट्स, इलेक्ट्रिक व्हीकल (ईवी) प्रोडक्ट्स, इलेक्ट्रॉनिक्स तथा डिजाइन एवं डेवलपमेंट सेंटर जैसे क्षेत्रों में अपना निवेश बढ़ाने की तैयारी कर रही है। कंपनी डीपर लोकलाइजेशन और बैकवर्ड इंटीग्रेशन की दिशा में भी आगे बढ़ रही है। इसके लिए जापानी कंपनियों के साथ साझेदारी काफी महत्वपूर्ण है। निवेश विस्तार के साथ कंपनी प्रदेश में करीब 6,000 से 8,000 अतिरिक्त लोगों को रोजगार देने की दिशा में काम करना चाहती है।

स्पार्क मिंडा के एग्जीक्यूटिव डायरेक्टर ने जापान और दुनिया भर के उद्योगों को उत्तर प्रदेश में निवेश के अवसरों पर विचार करने का आह्वान किया। उन्होंने कहा कि उत्तर प्रदेश में निवेश की संभावनाएं बेहद मजबूत हैं।।जापान वर्ल्ड क्लास टेक्नोलॉजी, ग्लोबल क्वालिटी और प्रिसिजन मैन्युफैक्चरिंग लेकर आता है, जबकि उत्तर प्रदेश स्केल, टैलेंट, इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर, पॉलिसी सपोर्ट, बड़ा मार्केट और बिजनेस फ्रेंडली इनवॉयरमेंट उपलब्ध कराता है। भारतीय कंपनियां स्थानीय क्षमताओं, ग्राहकों की जरूरतों की बेहतर समझ और आगे बढ़ने की इच्छा लेकर आती हैं। इन सभी क्षमताओं का संयोजन उत्तर प्रदेश को वैश्विक मैन्युफैक्चरिंग का महत्वपूर्ण केंद्र बनाने में मदद कर सकता है।

अफगानिस्तान ने दरविश रसूली की अगुवाई में जापान के आइची-नागोया में होने वाले एशियाई खेल 2026 के लिए 15 सदस्यीय टीम की घोषणा कर दी है। इस टीम में युवा खिलाड़ियों के साथ नजीबुल्लाह ज़दरान और करीम जनत जैसे अनुभवी खिलाड़ी भी शामिल हैं। अफगानिस्तान क्रिकेट बोर्ड की राष्ट्रीय चयन समिति ने टीम के अधिकतर खिलाड़ी हाल ही में खत्म हुई 11वीं शपागीजा क्रिकेट लीग से चुना हैं। नियमित कप्तान राशिद खान और रहमानुल्लाह गुरबाज और अज़मतुल्लाह ओमरजई जैसे अहम खिलाड़ी इस टीम का हिस्सा नहीं होंगे।

एशियाई खेल 24 सितंबर से तीन अक्टूबर तक होने हैं। इससे ठीक एक सप्ताह पहले, अफ़गानिस्तान की टीम तीन मैचों की टी-20 सीरीज़ के लिए भारत का दौरा करेगी। वहीं, टॉप-ऑर्डर बल्लेबाज मोहम्मद अकरम ने शपागीजा क्रिकेट लीग में शानदार प्रदर्शन के बाद टीम में जगह बनाई है। उन्होंने आठ पारियों में 339 रन बनाए, जिसमें एक शतक और दो अर्धशतक शामिल थे। ऑलराउंडर इस्मत आलम को भी टूर्नामेंट में उनके अच्छे प्रदर्शन का इनाम मिला है। उन्होंने 294 रन बनाए और नौ विकेट लिए, जिसके लिए उन्हें एससीएल का ‘बेस्ट प्लेयर’ अवॉर्ड मिला।

विकेटकीपर-बल्लेबाज मोहम्मद इशाक, हसन ईसाखिल, खालिद तानीवाल और इमरान मीर टीम में शामिल अन्य युवा खिलाड़ियों में से हैं, जबकि नजीबुल्लाह और जनत अंतरराष्ट्रीय अनुभव लेकर आए हैं।

Opinion: Why India needs a small car assault

The CAFE 3 norms are just eight months away. Things will certainly get tighter and tougher for automakers, in terms of upping the number of clean power options as well as light-weighting their current brawn-ish SUVs. If one has to bring a 30 percent reduction in fleet-average performance and move from MIDC to WLTP test results, an automaker has very little leeway in terms of just about making it. 

As a product planner, I would seriously take this as an opportunity to bring the focus back onto the entry-level small car. In fact, all product planners should be doing the same, irrespective of what your current portfolio is. The policymakers are sending out a clear message to the Indian automobile industry – relook and revive the small car, for you have neglected it for quite some time now!

And why not? It’s not just for developing markets; look at the developed world too. The otherwise ostentatious European is seriously evaluating the small car once again. Even the more aware and conscious American is. Japan has always been a ready reference for all. Tomorrow’s car buyer is going frugal and smart once again. Going back to the basics. Without compromising on comfort and features. And the automakers have prepared themselves for such times. Some started almost a decade ago, with varying outcomes, but the efforts have been commendable and great teachers on how to approach the future. 

The Citroën Ami. The Fiat Topolino and Multiplina. The Renault 5 and its hot hatchback cousin, the Alpine A290. The Nissan Micra. The Smart For2. The Honda Super N. The Microlino and Microletta. And I have not even gone into what the Chinese have launched over the last 12 months. 

This is the attack of the “minors”. Electric. Power-packed. Feature-rich. Head-turning looks. Both microcars as well as conventional entry-level little runabouts. They are not cheap-looking, frugally engineered, cost-compromised, low-on-status offers that one never wants. They are clean, conscious and very cool. They cater to the sceptical youth and the wizened elder alike.

For years, Japan and Europe have been the homes of such cars. It is time India takes over that role. And it makes perfect business sense too. If we are to increase car penetration and grow the market to a size even half of that of China, given our consumption power, there is no other way but to make the entry-level car the hero of the script. Whether electric, CNG or hybrid. It is the responsibility of brands like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota, Tata and Honda to make this happen. Only then will we create a mature and sustainable market with a rich and robust pipeline of two-wheeler owners who will want to look up!

Honda ZR-V: Drive

Honda’s first hybrid SUV in India arrives as a full import from Japan, packing a 184hp strong-hybrid powertrain and a claimed 22.8kpl. We get a brief first taste at the Buddh International Circuit to find out if it delivers on its promise.
