Jaguar Type 01: Drive

Japan second capital: जापान एक बड़े भूकंप जैसी भीषण प्राकृतिक आपदा के दौरान सरकारी कामकाज को बिना किसी रुकावट के जारी रखने के लिए एक बैकअप राजधानी बनाने पर विचार कर रहा है। इसके बाद भारत में भी एक पुरानी बहस फिर से छिड़ गई है कि क्या भारत को भी अपनी एक दूसरी राजधानी की जरूरत है? जापान में जहां यह चर्चा पूरी तरह से आपदा प्रबंधन और आपदा की स्थिति से निपटने की तैयारियों पर केंद्रित है। वहीं भारत में दूसरी राजधानी की मांग ऐतिहासिक रूप से क्षेत्रीय प्रतिनिधित्व, प्रशासनिक पहुंच और राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती रही है।

यह विचार भारत के लिए नया नहीं है। संविधान के मुख्य शिल्पकार डॉ. बी.आर अंबेडकर से लेकर विभिन्न राजनीतिक नेताओं ने समय-समय पर इस मुद्दे को उठाया है। उनका तर्क रहा है कि भारत का शासन आज भी काफी हद तक नई दिल्ली में ही केंद्रित है।

डॉ. बीआर. अंबेडकर चाहते थे हैदराबाद बने भारत की दूसरी राजधानी

भारत में दूसरी राजधानी के पक्ष में सबसे शुरुआती और मजबूत तर्कों में से एक डॉ बीआर अंबेडकर का था। अपनी 1955 में प्रकाशित पुस्तक थॉट्स ऑन लिंग्विस्टिक स्टेट्स में उन्होंने तर्क दिया था कि नई दिल्ली भारत की एकमात्र राजधानी के लिए आदर्श जगह नहीं है। अंबेडकर ने तीन प्रमुख चिंताओं की ओर इशारा किया था।

पहली ये कि दिल्ली दक्षिण भारत से काफी दूर है, जिससे दक्षिण के नागरिकों और अधिकारियों को यहां आने-जाने में भारी असुविधा होती है। दूसरा दिल्ली की भीषण गर्मी और अत्यधिक ठंड इसे एक आरामदायक प्रशासनिक केंद्र नहीं बनने देती। अंबेडकर ने चेतावनी दी थी कि दिल्ली की अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमाओं से निकटता युद्ध के समय इसे बेहद संवेदनशील और असुरक्षित बनाती है।

इसके विकल्प के रूप में उन्होंने हैदराबाद को देश की दूसरी राजधानी बनाने का प्रस्ताव रखा था। उन्होंने हैदराबाद को एक केंद्रीय रूप से स्थित और कॉस्मोपॉलिटन शहर बताया, जो उत्तर और दक्षिण भारत के बीच एक स्थायी संतुलन स्थापित कर सकता है।

बेंगलुरु प्रस्ताव ने फिर ताजा की थी बहस

दूसरी राजधानी का यह मुद्दा साल 2018 में तब फिर से चर्चा में आया जब कर्नाटक के तत्कालिक आवास मंत्री एम कृष्णप्पा ने प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को पत्र लिखकर बेंगलुरु को भारत की दूसरी राजधानी के रूप में मान्यता देने की मांग की।

इस प्रस्ताव में तर्क दिया गया था कि भारत के टेक्नोलॉजी हब के रूप में बेंगलुरु की स्थिति, वहां का अनुकूल मौसम और मजबूत आर्थिक आधार इसे दक्षिण भारत में एक आदर्श प्रशासनिक केंद्र बनाते हैं। समर्थकों का यह भी मानना था कि इस कदम से देश के शासन ढांचे में दक्षिणी राज्यों का एकीकरण और मजबूत होगा।

दुनिया के कई देशों में हैं एक से अधिक राजधानियां

अगर भारत अपनी प्रशासनिक संस्थाओं को अलग-अलग शहरों में बांटता है तो ऐसा करने वाला वह पहला देश नहीं होगा। दुनिया के कई देशों ने अपनी सरकारी शक्तियों को विभिन्न शहरों में बांट कर रखा हुआ है। दक्षिण अफ्रीका यह मल्टी-कैपिटल मॉडल का सबसे बेहतरीन उदाहरण है। यहां प्रिटोरिया में कार्यपालिका, केप टाउनमें संसद और ब्लोएमफोनटेन में न्यायपालिका है। इसी तरह मलेशिया ने अपने प्रशासनिक कार्यालयों को पुत्राजया में ट्रांसफर कर दिया है जबकि संसद कुआलालंपुर से ही चलती है।

श्रीलंका की संसद श्री जयवर्धनेपुरा कोट्टे में बैठती है जबकि कोलंबो इसका वाणिज्यिक केंद्र और कई सरकारी संस्थानों का मुख्यालय बना हुआ है। नीदरलैंड एम्स्टर्डम को अपनी संवैधानिक राजधानी मानता है, लेकिन सरकार, संसद और सुप्रीम कोर्ट द हेग में स्थित हैं। बोलीविया की भी दो राजधानियां हैं, जहां ला पाज प्रशासनिक राजधानी है और सुक्रे संवैधानिक राजधानी व न्यायपालिका का केंद्र है।

जापान का प्रस्ताव भारत की बहस से अलग क्यों है?

जापान का बैकअप कैपिटल का प्रस्ताव भारत में चल रही दूसरी राजधानी की बहस से एक बड़े मायने में अलग है। टोक्यो जापान की मुख्य राजधानी बना रहेगा। जापानी सरकार केवल एक आपातकालीन प्रशासनिक केंद्र की संभावनाओं की स्टडी कर रही है ताकि अगर कोई भीषण भूकंप या बड़ी आपदा राजधानी टोक्यो को प्रभावित करती है तो वहां से देश का शासन निर्बाध रूप से चलता रहे। जापान का मुख्य उद्देश्य सरकार का निरंतर संचालन है, न कि क्षेत्रीय प्रतिनिधित्व।

क्या भारत को वास्तव में दूसरी राजधानी की जरूरत है?

हालांकि समय-समय पर दूसरी राजधानी का विचार उभरता रहा है, लेकिन दिल्ली में किए गए भारी निवेश (जैसे सेंट्रल विस्टा का पुनर्विकास) को देखते हुए एक नई दूसरी राजधानी बनाना फिलहाल व्यावहारिक नजर नहीं आता। इसके बजाय विशेषज्ञों ने कुछ अधिक व्यावहारिक विकल्प सुझाए हैं। महाराष्ट्र विधानसभा के नागपुर में होने वाले शीतकालीन सत्र की तर्ज पर, हर साल संसद का कम से कम एक सत्र दक्षिण भारत के किसी शहर में आयोजित किया जा सकता है।

एक्सपर्ट्स के मुताबिक न्याय तक आम जनता की पहुंच आसान बनाने के लिए चेन्नई, मुंबई और कोलकाता जैसे प्रमुख शहरों में सुप्रीम कोर्ट की स्थायी क्षेत्रीय पीठें स्थापित की जा सकती हैं। फिलहाल नई दिल्ली ही भारत की एकमात्र राजधानी बनी हुई है। लेकिन जैसे-जैसे दुनिया भर के देश अपने शासन को अधिक लचीला, सुरक्षित और सुलभ बनाने के रास्ते तलाश रहे हैं, भारत में भी कुछ संस्थानों के विकेंद्रीकरण का सवाल समय-समय पर उठता रहेगा।

Suzuki Vision E-Sky prototype spied testing for the first time

A camouflaged prototype of the Suzuki Vision E-Sky was recently spied testing in Europe, giving as a hint for the first time at what the production model could look like. The Suzuki Vision E-Sky concept was previewed at the Japan Mobility Show last year as the brand’s urban-centric, entry-level born EV. It’s expected to go on sale abroad next year.

Suzuki Vision e-sky prototype spied testing in Europe 

The heavily camouflaged vehicle seems to be an early-stage prototype, which is why it was seen wearing temporary headlamps, whereas the original concept featured LED headlamps with a connecting LED band. What stands out most are its proportions – its tall and upright, but the narrow track width gives it a very compact footprint. For reference, the concept measured 3,395mm in length, 1,475mm in width, and 1,625mm in height; this makes it taller than the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso but its length and width figures fall short of the latter.

Other highlights that can be spotted include traditional pull-type door handles, door-mounted wing mirrors (these were pillar mounted on the concept), aero-optimised alloy wheels and also a large cooling inlet on the bumper. At the back, the test mule featured vertically stacked tail lamps and reflectors on the bumper. Overall, the design seems clean and fuss-free, staying true to the original concept. 

Although these spy shots do not give us a glimpse at the interior, the Vision E-sky concept came with a floating dashboard design with large, dual digital screens and a squircle steering wheel. Given its compact dimensions, however, it is likely that this vehicle will be best suited only for four adults.

Suzuki Vision e-sky specifications  

Suzuki didn’t disclose any specifications during the concept’s debut at the Japan Mobility Show last year, but only hinted that it will offer more than 270km of range. Given its dimension, it can be expected to be powered by a battery ranging between 30-35kWh. 

Suzuki Vision E-Sky concept 

The production version of the Suzuki Vision E-Sky is expected to go on sale globally in 2027. Notably, Maruti Suzuki does have an entry-level, low-cost EV on cards for India. It’s internally codenamed the Y2V and is expected to arrive in the Indian market by 2028 to specifically cater to the entry-level EV segment, and the production version of the Vision E-Sky could very well fit the bill. The Y2V hatchback is part of Maruti Suzuki’s plan to launch six EVs by FY2031, covering different segments from hatchbacks to SUVs. In India, the Y2V could squarely be positioned against the MG Comet EV.

All you need to know about the Honda ZR-V

Honda has launched the ZR-V in India at an introductory price of Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). The SUV sits at the top of the Japanese carmaker’s India lineup as its flagship offering. Available only in a single, fully loaded variant, the ZR-V rivals premium SUVs such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron and Tiguan. Imported from Japan as a completely built unit (CBU), the ZR-V will be sold in limited numbers, with Honda allocating 60 units each in the first two batches. Customer deliveries have already commenced, and the initial 120-unit allocation has been fully spoken for.

1. What powertrain does the Honda ZR-V hybrid get?

The India-spec ZR-V Hybrid uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual-motor strong-hybrid setup and an e-CVT automatic gearbox. The combined system output stands at 184hp and 315Nm, with power sent to the front wheels.

Honda claims a 0-100kph time of 8 seconds and a top speed of 172kph. Internationally, the ZR-V is also available with a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and an all-wheel-drive setup.

2. What fuel efficiency does the Honda ZR-V hybrid offer?

Honda pegs the ZR-V hybrid’s fuel efficiency at 22.79kpl. The strong-hybrid setup allows the SUV to run in EV-only mode at lower speeds and during light-throttle driving conditions, helping improve efficiency in city use.

3. What does the Honda ZR-V look like?

The ZR-V has a clean and relatively sleek design compared to its rivals. At the front, it features slim LED headlights with L-shaped daytime running lamps, a black grille and a bumper with functional air vents on both sides.

The SUV rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and gets body-coloured cladding around the wheel arches. At the rear, the ZR-V features LED tail-lights with U-shaped lighting elements, dual exhaust outlets integrated into the bumper and a roof-mounted spoiler, as well as a wiper and washer.

4. What is the Honda ZR-V’s interior like?

Inside, the ZR-V gets a simple dashboard layout with plenty of physical buttons and knobs for functions such as climate control and audio controls. The centre console also uses physical buttons for gear selection.

The SUV gets a dual-screen setup featuring a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, along with a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display. Honda is also offering leatherette upholstery, dual-zone climate control, a wireless charger, powered front seats, ambient lighting, a powered tailgate and a 12-speaker Bose sound system. Both rows get centre armrests as well.

However, unlike many rivals in this segment, the ZR-V does not get ventilated seats or a sunroof.

5. What colour options does the Honda ZR-V get?

Honda will offer the ZR-V hybrid in four exterior colour options in India: Crystal Black Pearl, Twilight Mist Black Pearl, Platinum White Pearl and Meteoroid Grey Metallic.

6. What safety and ADAS features does the ZR-V get?

The Honda ZR-V comes equipped with eight airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree surround-view camera, hill-descent control, hill-start assist, electronic parking brake with auto hold, vehicle stability assist and disc brakes on all four wheels.

The Level 2 ADAS suite includes collision mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane-keeping assist, road-departure mitigation, auto high beam and lead-car departure notification. Other safety equipment comprises a driver-attention monitor, rain-sensing wipers, ISOFIX mounts and an acoustic vehicle alert system for EV driving at low speeds.

7. What are the Honda ZR-V’s dimensions?

The Honda ZR-V measures 4,567mm in length, 1,840mm in width and 1,621mm in height and has a 2,655mm wheelbase. Honda says the SUV offers up to 1,313 litres of cargo space with the 60:40 split-folding rear seats folded down. The ZR-V rides on 18-inch alloy wheels and has a turning radius of 5.5 metres.

Compared to its rivals, the ZR-V is smaller overall and is available only as a five-seater. Most of its similarly priced rivals offer a third row and a larger overall footprint.

विनीथ ने बताया कि उनके साथी को पत्नी, ससुराल पक्ष और परिवार से जुड़े विवादों का सामना करना पड़ा। इसके बाद कानूनी मामलों और मानसिक तनाव ने उनकी जिंदगी को काफी प्रभावित किया। उन्होंने दावा किया कि इन परिस्थितियों के बीच वह डिप्रेशन से भी गुजरे और अपने बच्चे से दूरी ने उनकी मुश्किलें और बढ़ा दीं। आखिरकार उन्होंने अमेरिका छोड़कर भारत लौटने का फैसला किया।

₹100 करोड़ से ज्यादा संपत्ति, लेकिन जिंदगी गांव में

विनीथ के मुताबिक, आज उनके पूर्व साथी के पास बैंक में ₹100 करोड़ से ज्यादा की संपत्ति है, लेकिन वह अब शहरों की चमक-दमक से दूर एक छोटे गांव में रहते हैं। वह अपना समय आध्यात्मिक गतिविधियों में बिताते हैं और मानसिक शांति, उपचार और जीवन के अनुभवों से जुड़े वीडियो साझा करते हैं।

पैसे से ज्यादा जरूरी है मन की शांति

विनीथ ने इस कहानी के जरिए मानसिक स्वास्थ्य के महत्व पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि उन्होंने ऐसे कई मामले देखे हैं जहां आर्थिक सफलता के बावजूद लोग मानसिक परेशानियों से जूझते हैं। उनका संदेश था कि जिस तरह लोग अपनी संपत्ति की सुरक्षा करते हैं, उसी तरह अपने मानसिक स्वास्थ्य का भी ध्यान रखना चाहिए।
