Mercedes-Benz has concluded its ‘140 Years. 140 Places.’ global tour, organised to commemorate 140 years since Carl Benz filed the patent for his Motorwagen in 1886. Three S-Class sedans returned to the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart, Germany, on October 17, after covering more than 65,000km across 55 countries and six continents over nearly nine months. Approximately 20,000 guests attended the homecoming event, which also featured the global debut of the new Mercedes-AMG GT SUV.

The expedition began in Stuttgart on January 29, 2026, with three S-Class sedans named Bertha, Carl and Gottlieb. The tour visited more than 140 locations across six continents, crossing 67 national borders and 13 climate zones.
The route covered cities including New York, Tokyo, Mumbai, Nairobi and Sao Paulo. The cars returned to Stuttgart in a convoy of 140 historic and current vehicles, including a replica of the 1886 Benz Patent-Motorwagen, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé, a Ponton 220 S, the C 111 experimental vehicle, and the electric G-Class and C-Class.

Mercedes-Benz said the expedition provided insights into the S-Class under real-world conditions beyond those covered by its regular development testing in extreme temperatures and simulation chambers.
During the India leg, the cars travelled to Umling La, at approximately 5,800 metres above sea level, and encountered monsoon conditions and flooded roads. In Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia, the route included unpaved and uneven surfaces. Mercedes-Benz said the journey also exposed the cars to temperatures varying by more than 50deg C across desert and tropical climates.

Anniversary activities continue through December
Mercedes-Benz will continue its ‘140 Years of Innovation’ anniversary programme through the end of 2026. Mercedes-Benz plans further studios in international cities following launches in Copenhagen, Los Angeles, Sydney and Delhi.
In December, the company will convert the approximately 145-metre-long glass facade of its dealership at Donnersbergerbrucke in Munich into an oversized Advent calendar. Mercedes-Benz is also planning a coffee-table book documenting the expedition, its stops, and its encounters along the route.

Mercedes has taken the wraps off the AMG GT SUV which, according to the German marque, is the first full-size SUV it has developed completely in-house. The Mercedes-AMG GT SUV comes in at 5,084mm long, 2,001mm wide and 1,656mm tall, and it has a wheelbase of 3,040mm. The front fascia sports AMG’s vertical-slat grille and Mercedes star, both of which can be optionally illuminated, flanking which are LED headlamps with star-shaped DRLs (daytime running lights). The front bumper features active slats, which only open when components need extra cooling.
The profile showcases a low-slung roofline that slopes towards the rear along with pronounced wheel arches. Other details here include frameless side windows and compact wing mirrors. Moving to the rear of the AMG GT SUV reveals six circular tail-lamps as seen on the GT 4-Door Coupe, and customers can also opt for a full-width light strip.
Stepping up to the GT 55 and GT 63 means an active rear spoiler that remains flush with the roof until 150kph, changing its angle depending on the driving scenario. Mercedes-AMG also claims a drag coefficient of 0.28 for the GT 53, while the other two are rated at 0.27. The main boot has a claimed capacity of 607 litres, with the frunk capable of accommodating 78 litres worth of luggage.
Buyers can personalise the GT SUV through the brand’s Manufaktur programme, which presents over 60 paint options. Customers can also opt for AMG’s forged wheels in colour accents, which includes Matt Vanadium Silver and Matt Copper, Matt Black with a rim flange in Angel Blue, Sunny Lime, or Orange Flame.

Just like the exterior, the interior of the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV can be personalised using the Manufaktur catalogue. Some of the options that will be offered to customers include accent colours and seatbelts trimmed in Fjord Blue, Green Hell or Orange Flame. The automaker claims that the seating position here is akin to that of a sports car rather than an SUV. Providing comfort up front are multi-way power-adjustable seats, while the three-seat rear bench gets power-folding headrests.
The dashboard pairs a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14-inch touchscreen that’s angled towards the driver, while a 14-inch screen is optional for the front occupant. The AMG Performance steering wheel is equipped with paddles to adjust brake-regen levels, while adding to the design are door panels with floating armrests and diamond-pattern stitching. There’s also multi-colour ambient lighting whose colours can be matched to the bevy of displays and controls.
The infotainment system features the German brand’s latest MBUX software, which is based on the MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System). It integrates AI agents such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini. This luxury SUV also comes with three AMG-specific apps. Firstly, there’s ‘AMG Performance Menu’, which displays real-time data on power, tyre temperatures and active aero status.
Second is ‘AMG Set-up’ – this lets the driver customise the buttons on the steering wheel as well as aero settings. Finally, there’s ‘AMG Track Pace’, which records lap times and telemetry. Drivers can also use it to show optimal braking points and the ideal racing line in the head-up display. Meanwhile, the optional dashcam allows laps to be recorded with data overlays. The AMG GT SUV is also available with an electrically dimming panoramic glass roof, AMG lighting effects, AMG Performance seats and a Burmester 4D audio system, among many optional features.

The EV gets up to three electric motors and a WLTP range of up to 700km
The entry-level GT 53 variant of the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV uses two synchronous motors – one on each axle – with a two-speed gearbox located at the rear. Its output is rated at 544hp and 800Nm, with Mercedes-AMG claiming a 0-100kph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 250kph. Then there are the mid-spec GT 55 and the top-spec GT 63. These come with two axial flux motors at the rear and one at the front, the latter disengaging when not needed to save energy.
The tri-motor setup of the GT 55 outputs 816hp and 1,860Nm, allowing for a claimed 0-100kph time of 3.1 seconds. Sitting at the top of the Mercedes-AMG GT SUV line-up is the GT 63, which is rated at 1,169hp and 2,000Nm and does 0-100kph in 2.7 seconds. Regardless, the all-wheel-drive GT 55 and GT 63 have a claimed top speed of 270kph with the optional Driver’s Package.
The GT 53’s 106kWh battery pack offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 668km, while the 128kWh battery of the GT 55 and GT 63 is rated at up to 700km. These 800V packs offer DC fast charging of 600kW and 710kW, respectively. Mercedes-AMG claims that charging these batteries from 10-80 percent takes 11-12 minutes, though it also says that these figures are preliminary.
The GT SUV gets rear-wheel steering as standard while also debuting AMG’s new ‘Active Ride Control+’ suspension. The latter, which is standard on the top-spec GT 63, replaces traditional anti-roll bars with hydraulic units that, according to the automaker, curb body roll and pitch. The top-spec variant also gets carbon-ceramic brakes as standard.
In the tri-motor variants, drivers can adjust the throttle response, cornering behaviour and traction control using dials on the centre console. Mercedes-AMG also said that the ‘AMGForce Sport+’ mode recreates the sound of an AMG V8 (or a six-cylinder in the GT 53) along with simulated gearshifts. As for India, the German marque is yet to reveal its plans for the AMG GT SUV.

न्यूज 18 के रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, कोलकाता के चोरबागान सर्बोजनिन दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल में भगदड़ की वजह से कम से कम 17 लोगों की मौत होने और 35 से ज्यादा लोगों के घायल होने की खबर है। रिपोर्ट्स के मुताबिक, पंडाल का एक हिस्सा गिरने की भी जानकारी सामने आई है। वहीं ये घटना कैसे हुई और इसके पीछे की असली वजह क्या थी अभी इसकी पूरी जानकारी सामने नहीं आई है। वहीं इस हादसे पर पीएम मोदी ने भी दुख जताया है।
पुलिस ने क्या कहा
कोलकाता पुलिस ने कहा “आज शाम करीब 7:40 बजे, गिरीश पार्क पुलिस स्टेशन के तहत आने वाले सरदा पार्क (चोर बागान) पूजा पंडाल के एग्जिट गेट पर भारी भीड़ और बारिश के कारण भगदड़ मच गई। पूजा पंडाल को अब दर्शकों के लिए बंद कर दिया गया है। सभी घायल लोगों को बचा लिया गया और इलाज के लिए MCH में शिफ्ट कर दिया गया है। अब तक मिली जानकारी के अनुसार, लगभग 35 लोगों को MCH में शिफ्ट किया गया है।”
पीएम मोदी ने जताया दुख
कोलकाता में भगदड़ की घटना पर प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने दुख जताया है। पीएमओ की ओर से जारी पोस्ट में पीएम ने कहा गया, “कोलकाता में भगदड़ बहुत दुखद है। मेरी संवेदनाएं उन लोगों के साथ हैं जिन्होंने अपने प्रियजनों को खो दिया है। घायल लोग जल्द से जल्द ठीक हों। स्थानीय प्रशासन प्रभावित लोगों को हर संभव सहायता प्रदान कर रहा है।”

पुलिस के मुताबिक, कोलकाता के दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल में मची अफरा-तफरी के दौरान कम से कम 35 लोग घायल हो गए। सभी घायलों को इलाज के लिए कलकत्ता मेडिकल कॉलेज अस्पताल पहुंचाया गया और हालात काबू में करने के लिए पंडाल को कुछ समय के लिए बंद कर दिया गया। रिपोर्ट्स के अनुसार, तेज गर्मी और ज्यादा भीड़ के कारण कुछ लोगों की तबीयत बिगड़ गई थी। वहीं, भगदड़ की खबर फैलने से लोगों में डर और बढ़ गया। इसके बाद पुलिस, अधिकारियों और पूजा आयोजकों ने भीड़ को संभालने और घायलों की मदद करने के लिए जरूरी कदम उठाए।

Q2 Results: दिग्गज सीमेंट कंपनी UltraTech Cement की सब्सिडियरी India Cements का सितंबर तिमाही में मुनाफा करीब 340% यानी चार गुना से ज्यादा बढ़ गया। कंपनी ने ₹38.8 करोड़ का नेट प्रॉफिट कमाया। पिछले साल इसी तिमाही में मुनाफा ₹8.8 करोड़ था।
कंपनी की कमाई यानी रेवेन्यू भी बढ़ी है। सितंबर तिमाही में यह 2.2% बढ़कर ₹1,142 करोड़ रहा। पिछले साल इसी दौरान रेवेन्यू ₹1,117 करोड़ था।
India Cements की कमाई में कैसे आया उछाल?
इंडिया सीमेंट्स का EBITDA सालाना आधार पर 78% बढ़कर ₹145 करोड़ हो गया। पिछले साल यह ₹81 करोड़ था। वहीं, EBITDA मार्जिन भी 7.3% से बढ़कर 12.7% हो गया।
कंपनी के मुताबिक, प्लांट में कामकाज बेहतर होने और मशीनों का ज्यादा इस्तेमाल होने से मुनाफा बढ़ा है। आसान भाषा में कहें तो कंपनी पहले के मुकाबले अपने संसाधनों का बेहतर इस्तेमाल कर रही है।
₹2,000 करोड़ खर्च करने की तैयारी
इंडिया सीमेंट्स ने कारोबार बढ़ाने के लिए ₹2,000 करोड़ के निवेश को मंजूरी दी है। सितंबर 2026 तक इसमें से करीब ₹1,728 करोड़ खर्च करने की प्रतिबद्धता जताई जा चुकी थी।
कंपनी हर साल सीमेंट बनाने की क्षमता 28 लाख टन बढ़ाना चाहती है। इसके अलावा, बिजली का खर्च घटाने के लिए भी कदम उठाए जा रहे हैं। कंपनी 24 मेगावाट का ऐसा सिस्टम लगाने की योजना पर काम कर रही है, जो सीमेंट बनाने के दौरान निकलने वाली गर्मी से बिजली बनाने में मदद करेगा। साथ ही, 263 मेगावाट की रिन्यूएबल एनर्जी क्षमता भी डेवलपम की जाएगी।
इंडिया सीमेंट्स के शेयरों का हाल
नतीजों की घोषणा से पहले शुक्रवार को BSE पर इंडिया सीमेंट्स का शेयर 1.78% चढ़कर ₹302.50 पर बंद हुआ। पिछले 1 साल में स्टॉक 23% गिरा है।

The Universo Ferrari exhibition 2026 in New Delhi has brought together the Italian brand’s road cars and race cars on the same stage. Tesla Model Y L powertrain details
Despite the improvement in acceleration, Tesla claims the same 681km (WLTP) range figure for the Model Y L as before; real-world range will vary depending on driving conditions, speed, weather and other factors. It has an 88kWh (estimated) NMC battery pack, powering a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. Tesla has not not officially disclosed powertrain specifications, but it has an estimated combined system output of 514hp and 590Nm. The claimed top speed is 201kph.
As per the carmaker, the Model Y L can add up to 288km of range in 15 minutes when using a Tesla Supercharger. It supports DC fast charging speeds of up to 250kW and AC charging of up to 11kW.
Tesla is expanding its charging network in India, with 20 Superchargers and 28 Destination Chargers. Three more sites are planned by the end of 2026.
In the premium EV space, the Tesla Model Y L rivals the BMW iX1 LWB and BYD Sealion 7.

Renault Duster Hybrid का शुरुआती वेरिएंट Evolution है, जिसकी एक्स-शोरूम कीमत ₹16.99 लाख रखी गई है। वहीं, इसका टॉप वेरिएंट Emotion है, जिसकी कीमत ₹19.49 लाख है। दोनों वेरिएंट की कीमत में ₹2.50 लाख का अंतर है।
हालांकि, कंपनी ने अभी यह नहीं बताया है कि किस वेरिएंट में कौन-कौन से फीचर्स मिलेंगे। ऐसे में कार खरीदने का फैसला लेने से पहले डीलर से दोनों वेरिएंट के फीचर्स की पूरी लिस्ट जरूर मांग लें। इससे आपको समझने में आसानी होगी कि ज्यादा कीमत देकर टॉप वेरिएंट खरीदना आपके लिए कितना फायदेमंद है।
हाइब्रिड सिस्टम कैसे काम करता है
इसमें 1.8-लीटर का पेट्रोल इंजन दो इलेक्ट्रिक मोटरों और 1.4 kWh की सेल्फ-चार्जिंग बैटरी के साथ मिलकर काम करता है, जिससे कुल 160 hp की पावर मिलती है। गाड़ी को चलाने का काम एक मल्टी-मोड ऑटोमैटिक गियरबॉक्स संभालता है। बैटरी, रीजेनरेटिव ब्रेकिंग और पेट्रोल इंजन की मदद से खुद ही चार्ज हो जाती है, इसलिए इसे कभी भी प्लग-इन करने की जरूरत नहीं पड़ती। रेनॉल्ट का दावा है कि सही परिस्थितियों में शहर के अंदर 80% तक ड्राइविंग इलेक्ट्रिक मोड में की जा सकती है। हालांकि, यह दावा ट्रैफिक, गाड़ी की रफ्तार और आपके ड्राइविंग के तरीके पर निर्भर करता है।
Renault Duster के दूसरे वेरिएंट से कितनी अलग है Hybrid?
Renault Duster Hybrid के साथ कंपनी इस SUV में पहले से मिलने वाले 1.0-लीटर और 1.3-लीटर टर्बो-पेट्रोल इंजन का विकल्प भी दे रही है। इस जनरेशन की Duster में डीजल इंजन का विकल्प नहीं मिलता।

BMW has revealed the F 450 RR, its third motorcycle based on the 450 platform. Just like the F 450 GS and F 450 R, the F 450 RR has four variants at launch, although it’s unclear how many will make it to India and at what prices. If you’re thinking of buying the F 450 RR when it arrives, here’s what is different in each variant.
BMW F 450 RR: Variant breakdown
Base
Keeping things simple, BMW calls the F 450 RR’s base variant Base. It comes in a single Cosmic Black colour and offers dual-channel and cornering ABS, traction control, a slip-and-assist clutch, a 6.5-inch TFT display, wheelie control, three ride modes (Rain, Road and Race), heated grips, dynamic brake control and engine drag torque control. Its monoshock is adjustable for preload and rebound, and the USD fork is completely non-adjustable.
Exclusive
The Exclusive variant also gets a single colour – Racing Red. Carrying forward the Base’s feature set, this variant adds a bi-directional quickshifter and Sport suspension that makes the USD fork adjustable for compression and rebound.
M Sport
This third variant comes in a single Snaefell white / M Motorsport colour, and it adds a fourth ride mode called Race Pro. It lets users individually customise control systems such as ABS and traction control.
M Sport with Innovation Package
The range-topping variant shares the Snaefell white / M Motorsport colour with the previous variant and adds BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch (ERC) to the rider aids on offer. This system first debuted on the F 450 GS’s GS Trophy variant. It effectively makes using the clutch optional, enabling clutchless up-and-down gear shifts.
All four variants have the 420cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that continues to make 48hp at 8,750rpm and 43Nm at 6,750rpm, a KYB 43mm USD fork and monoshock, adjustable brake and clutch levers and a Type-C USB port. The brakes are also the same, with a Brembo 310mm front disc with a four-piston monobloc caliper and a Bybre 240mm rear disc with a single-piston caliper.
