Lamborghini has teased the upcoming Revuelto SV, which is due for its global debut on August 14, 2026, at the Monterey Car Week. This comes just a week after the brand released images of a camouflaged test mule of its V12 supercar belting around Hockenheimring in Germany. Upon its arrival, the Revuelto SV will become the latest in the line of Lamborghini’s SV line-up that includes the erstwhile Aventador SV. The ‘SV’ stands for Super Veloce, which roughly translates to ‘Super Speed’.

Much of the Revuelto SV’s performance enhancement measures on the outside over the standard model are quite discernible. The fascia looks even sportier as the heavily revised bumper features new carbon-fibre elements plus a larger and more aggressive front splitter and intakes.

Lamborghini has also added a large fixed wing at the back, while a specially designed underbody and active flaps are also likely additions to enhance the Revuelto SV’s aerodynamic performance on the track. Similarly, lightweight carbon-fibre wheels and race-spec brakes are expected to be part of the package as well, along with unique paint options and exterior detailing exclusive to the SV.

The first teaser campaign from the brand provides us a glimpse into the Lamborghini Revuelto SV’s interior. Noticeable in the interior image is a heavy-duty roll cage, exposed metal surfaces and a bare-bones rear-cabin section. Other details that are visible here include a leather & carbon fibre-trimmed steering wheel with a red centre marker and carbon-fibre shift paddles. The bucket seats are also likely to be carbon-fibre units, whilst the shrouding for the digital driver’s display uses the same weight-saving material. The Revuelto SV’s interior could feature plenty of Alcantara/suede, depending on how a customer specs it. One can also expect to see ‘SV’ branding and other edition-specific detailing on this interior.

Powertrain and performance

Powering the Lamborghini Revuelto SV will be the familiar 6.5-litre naturally aspirated V12, along with three electric motors and a compact lithium-ion battery pack. Lamborghini is likely to have reworked the 8-speed dual-clutch transmission for quicker shifts, and the combined output from the hybrid powertrain is expected to go up as well.

Lamborghini recently set a lap record of 1:41.6 at the Hockenheimring track, with the brand claiming this to be the fastest lap ever recorded at this facility by a production car. The standard Revuelto offers 1,015hp and 725Nm of torque, allowing it to hit a top speed of over 350kph and accelerate from 0-100kph in a claimed 2.5 seconds. The SV is likely to be even faster, with retuned suspension and sharper steering also expected for improved handling on the track.

A 2027 Ducati Panigale V4 SP has been confirmed via a California Air Resources Board (CARB) certification in the US. According to reports, the filing was originally submitted for the 2027 Panigale V4 line-up in March, but Ducati updated it in July to add an SP variant to the certification.

2027 Ducati Panigale V4 SP: What to expect

The previous-generation Panigale V4 was available in both SP and SP2 variants

The SP nameplate – which stands for Sport Production – has, in recent history, typically represented the top-of-the-line version of a production Ducati. The brand introduced a Panigale V4 SP for the 2021 model year, followed by an SP2 for 2022. Both were positioned above the standard Panigale V4 S but below the track-homologated V4 R.

Based on that precedent, we could see the 2027 Panigale V4 SP offer similar upgrades to those seen on its predecessors – a dry clutch replacing the standard hydraulic unit, carbon-fibre wheels, a lightweight chain, adjustable billet-aluminium footpegs, a brushed-aluminium fuel tank and upgraded Brembo braking hardware. The engine will likely be shared with the rest of the road-going 2027 Panigale V4 line-up, and we’ll have to wait to see if output figures change with the SP badge. Notably, that wasn’t the case with the last generation. For reference, the 1,103cc V4 in the standard bike produces 216hp and 120.9Nm.

Currently, the global Panigale V4 line-up includes the standard V4, the V4 S, the track-homologated V4 R and the V4 S 100 limited-run model as part of the Centenario collection. All except the latter are also available in India. Ducati has been prompt in making most of its global models available in our market, so when the V4 SP does go into production, we could expect it to launch here as well. It will likely command a premium over the Rs 39.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India) price of the V4 S.

वीडियो की खास बात यह रही कि Hardik इसमें अचानक फ्रेम में दिखाई देते हैं और Varun की एक्सरसाइज को कॉपी करते हुए कैमरे पर रिएक्ट करते हैं। KKR ने इस हल्के-फुल्के पल को अपने सोशल मीडिया पर पोस्ट किया, लेकिन इसके बाद फैंस के बीच एक अलग ही चर्चा शुरू हो गई क्या KKR ने जानबूझकर Hardik Pandya को अपने वीडियो में दिखाकर कोई संकेत दिया है?

 

दरअसल, Hardik Pandya को लेकर IPL 2027 से पहले ट्रेड की अटकलें पहले से ही चल रही हैं। मौजूदा समय में Hardik Mumbai Indians के कप्तान हैं, ऐसे में KKR के सोशल मीडिया हैंडल से उनका इस तरह नजर आना फैंस के लिए काफी बड़ा इशारा बन गया। कई रिपोर्ट्स और सोशल मीडिया चर्चाओं में इस वीडियो को Hardik के संभावित KKR मूव से जोड़कर देखा जा रहा है।

While bulldozers usually come to one’s mind when the JCB brand is mentioned, in a new development, the British engineering giant has set a new world land speed record for a hydrogen-powered combustion vehicle. Performing the record-breaking feat was JCB’s in-house-developed Hydromax speedster, which achieved an average top speed of 653.90kph, with Andy Green behind the wheel. The record was set at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, USA.

For Andy Green, this marks his third world record, with previous feats including the world land speed record for a diesel-powered car through a JCB Dieselmax 20 years ago in 2006. Before that was a world land speed record with the sound barrier-breaking Thrust SSC in 1997.

On its first run, the Hydromax recorded an average speed of 644.74kph, while it achieved 663.26kph on its second run. The average speed of the two runs was 653.90kph, helping it beat the record that was previously set by the BMW H2R in 2004, which achieved a speed of 298.53kph. At its average top speed, JCB says that the Hydromax is the fastest hydrogen-powered vehicle of any kind in history. 

JCB Hydromax: What’s underneath it?

The 9.75-metre-long speedster uses two hydrogen-powered engines with a total capacity of 9.6 litres. The engines produce a combined power output of 1622hp and come with a single-stage motorsport turbocharger to deal with the high altitude of the Bonneville Salt Flats. Additionally, it utilises spark plugs designed for a Le Mans car.

The engines are laid on the sides of the car chassis, with one driving the front axle and the other the rear axle, while both are paired to a 6-speed sequential gearbox each. The company stated that the clutches used for the gearboxes were taken from a JCB digger, since motorsport-spec clutches weren’t designed to handle the loads of a speed-record car.

The Hydromax is built on a steel-frame chassis, while the driver sits in a carbon fibre monocoque sub-chassis. The windscreen is sculpted to mitigate drag, while the hydrogen tank sits behind the carbon fibre sub-chassis. Sculpted channels under the nose of the Hydromax are designed to channel salt from the car’s underbody to reduce drag.

For the Hydromax, JCB commissioned an all-new tyre that grows at high speeds, due to which the front wheel arches had to be redesigned and enlarged. Instead of a cooling inlet to reduce engine temperature, it utilises two tanks of ice, with 250kg required for each run. It was claimed that on the full record run, the Hydromax would consume just over 2kg of hydrogen and produce 18 litres of water.

Haldwani Shuddhikaran Row: हल्द्वानी के रामलीला मैदान में आठ अगस्त को कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खड़गे की रैली के बाद हुए ‘शुद्धिकरण’ अनुष्ठान को लेकर गुरुवार (13 अगस्त) को भारतीय जनता पार्टी (BJP) और कांग्रेस के बीच राजनीतिक घमासान शुरू हो गया। गुरुवार को राज्यसभा में ‘शुद्धिकरण’ रस्म को लेकर राजनीतिक टकराव हुआ। खड़गे ने उच्च सदन में यह मुद्दा उठाते हुए आरोप लगाया कि उनके दौरे के बाद उस जगह पर शुद्धिकरण की रस्म निभाई गई। उन्होंने सवाल किया कि क्या ऐसा काम लोकतंत्र के अनुकूल है।

मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने कहा, “…मैं हल्द्वानी में था, जहां मैंने रामलीला मैदान में एक जनसभा को संबोधित किया। वहां लाखों लोग मौजूद थे। उस समय मैंने किसी समुदाय या धर्म का नाम नहीं लिया, मैंने केवल सरकार से जुड़े मुद्दों को दोहराया। लेकिन मेरे भाषण के बाद, बीजेपी के लोगों ने उस मंच को ‘शुद्ध’ करने के लिए वहाँ हवन किया… क्या लोकतंत्र में ऐसा होता है? आप संविधान की रक्षा कैसे कर रहे हैं? मैं विपक्ष का नेता (LoP) हूं…।”

उन्होंने इस घटना को संविधान का अपमान करार देते हुए कहा कि वह इसे एक राजनीतिक मुद्दे के तौर पर उठाना चाहते हैं। खड़गे ने कहा, “यह संविधान का अपमान है।” कांग्रेस प्रमुख ने यह भी कहा कि उन्होंने संसद में कई साल बिताए हैं। उन्होंने उस हरकत पर आपत्ति जताई जिसे उन्होंने अपने प्रति ‘छुआछूत’ का व्यवहार बताया।

उन्होंने आगे कहा, “मैं इसे राजनीतिक मुद्दा नहीं बनाना चाहता। मैं बरसों से इस सदन का सदस्य रहा हूं। मैं अनुसूचित जाति से आता हूं और दलित हूं… मैंने कभी किसी से यह नहीं कहा कि मेरी मदद करो या मेरी रक्षा करो। मुझमें लड़ने की ताकत है और मैं लड़ता भी हूं। लेकिन आप मेरे साथ छुआछूत जैसा व्यवहार करते हैं, ‘शुद्धिकरण’ करते हैं और मेरा अपमान करते हैं।”

नड्डा ने BJP का संबंध होने से इनकार किया

वहीं, खड़गे के आरोपों पर BJP के पूर्व अध्यक्ष और केंद्रीय मंत्री जेपी नड्डा ने इस घटना को बेहद दुखद बताया। लेकिन खड़गे के इस दावे को खारिज कर दिया कि इसके पीछे BJP कार्यकर्ता थे। नड्डा ने कहा कि इसमें शामिल लोग BJP के सदस्य नहीं थे। उन्होंने जोर देकर कहा कि पार्टी ऐसे व्यवहार का समर्थन नहीं करती है। उन्होंने यह भी भरोसा दिलाया कि इस मामले की जांच की जाएगी।

उन्होंने कहा, “खड़गे जी ने जो कहा वह वाकई दुखद है… न सिर्फ कांग्रेस पार्टी के लिए बल्कि हम सभी के लिए… बीजेपी ऐसी गतिविधियों का समर्थन नहीं करती। लेकिन हम इसकी जांच करेंगे। मैं आपको भरोसा दिलाता हूं कि वहां जो कुछ भी हुआ, उसकी निश्चित रूप से जांच की जाएगी। लेकिन मैं यह साफ करना चाहता हूं कि बीजेपी ऐसी गतिविधियों का समर्थन नहीं करती। मैं इसकी निंदा करता हूं। राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष इस मामले को देखेंगे। यह हम सभी के लिए बहुत खेद की बात है कि आपकी भावनाएं आहत हुईं।”

नड्डा ने इस बात पर भी आपत्ति जताई कि पार्टी के शामिल होने से इनकार करने और जांच का वादा करने के बाद भी खड़गे BJP को ही जिम्मेदार ठहराते रहे। नड्डा ने कहा, “मैंने पहले ही कहा है कि BJP ऐसी गतिविधियों का समर्थन नहीं करती। यह हम सबके लिए, पूरे देश के लिए अफसोस की बात है। हम इसकी जांच करेंगे। लेकिन अगर खड़गे साहब कहते हैं कि आप ऐसा करते हैं, तो यह सही नहीं है।”

राज्यसभा सभापति ने भी घटना की निंदा की

बहस के दौरान राज्यसभा सभापति ने दखल देते हुए कहा कि खड़गे का कथित अपमान सदन में मौजूद हर व्यक्ति का अपमान माना जाएगा। सभापति ने कहा, “अगर खड़गे जी का अपमान होता है, तो सबका अपमान होता है।” सभापति ने यह भी कहा कि राजनीतिक जुड़ाव से ऊपर उठकर इस घटना की निंदा की जानी चाहिए। साथ ही जिम्मेदार लोगों की पहचान कर उन्हें सजा दी जानी चाहिए। सभापति ने आगे कहा कि इस हरकत के पीछे जो लोग हैं, उन्हें पकड़ा जाना चाहिए और सजा मिलनी चाहिए।

हल्द्वानी में क्या हुआ था?

यह विवाद तब शुरू हुआ जब 8 अगस्त को हल्द्वानी के रामलीला मैदान में खड़गे की रैली के बाद कथित तौर पर ‘शुद्धिकरण’ अनुष्ठान किया गया। उत्तराखंड प्रदेश कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष गणेश गोदियाल ने आरोप लगाया कि जिस ‘श्री राम सेना’ संगठन ने यह ‘शुद्धिकरण’ किया। वह BJP से जुड़ा है। हालांकि, BJP ने इस आरोप का खंडन किया।

गोदियाल ने दावा किया कि यह अनुष्ठान इसलिए किया गया क्योंकि खरगे दलित समुदाय से आते हैं। उन्होंने BJP पर जाति के नाम पर समाज में बंटवारा करने का आरोप लगाया। इस अनुष्ठान को मानवता के खिलाफ अपराध बताते हुए गोदियाल ने दावा किया कि इससे कांग्रेस और BJP की विचारधारा में बुनियादी अंतर स्पष्ट होता है। उन्होंने यह भी सवाल उठाया कि नैनीताल के वरिष्ठ पुलिस अधीक्षक ने दक्षिणपंथी संगठन के खिलाफ कार्रवाई क्यों नहीं की।

बीजेपी का ‘श्री राम सेना’ से किनारा

वहीं, BJP ने ‘श्री राम सेना’ से किसी भी तरह के संबंध से इनकार किया और कांग्रेस पर राजनीतिक फायदे के लिए पार्टी की छवि खराब करने का आरोप लगाया। बीजेपी के प्रदेश प्रवक्ता और कैबिनेट मंत्री खजान दास ने दावा किया कि रामलीला मैदान में खड़गे की रैली के दौरान कुछ ऐसे नारे लगाए गए जिनसे सनातन समुदाय की भावनाएं आहत हुईं। उन्होंने कहा कि रामलीला मैदान धार्मिक महत्व की जगह है। वहां किसी दूसरे धर्म से जुड़े नारे लगाने से लोग नाराज हुए।

The pickup is the production version of the 2023 Mahindra Global Pik Up concept, and the teaser reveals it will borrow a lot from the Scorpio N SUV. Here’s everything you can expect from the Mahindra Scorpio N-based pickup ahead of its debut tomorrow.

1. When will the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup launch in India

For reference, the Scorpio N gets a choice between a 2.0-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. It produces 203hp and up to 380Nm, depending on the gearbox. It also gets a 2.2-litre direct-injection diesel engine, paired with the same manual and automatic transmission options, producing up to 175hp and 400Nm, depending on the transmission option.

5. Will the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup be a 4×4 model?

As the upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N-based pickup would borrow the SUV’s mechanicals, a four-wheel-drive (4WD) option is expected to be available as well alongside a 2WD choice. Currently, the Scorpio N gets this 4×4 setup, with both transmission options for the 2.2-litre diesel engine.

Inside, a larger portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system and rotary dials for the dual-zone climate controls will be offered in the Scorpio N-based pickup. A chunkier 3-spoke steering wheel, inspired by the Vision T prototype, and a digital driver’s display with the same UI as the current Scorpio N, could also be spotted. Mahindra will also offer it with Level-2 ADAS, semi-automatic parking assistance, 5G-based connected-car technology, and a sunroof, as announced at the Global Pik Up concept’s 2023 unveiling.

7. Which models will the Mahindra Scorpio N pickup rival in India

The Mahindra Scorpio N-based pickup will rival the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross, which are priced from Rs 31.99 lakh and Rs 25.50 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. In Mahindra’s lineup, it will be positioned above the Bolero Camper, priced from Rs 10.10 lakh to Rs 10.86 lakh (ex-showroom).

As reported earlier, the Sporteq version will get a passenger display, completing its three-screen setup; a similar arrangement is already seen in the Mahindra XEV 9e and XEV 9S. The BE 6 currently gets a dual-screen setup as standard, which will continue on the lower trims. The triple-screen setup is likely to be exclusive to the Sporteq.

The teaser from before also showed a new  black-and-tan colour scheme for the seats and dashboard, although these areas were mostly hidden. The fresh spy shots give a clearer look, and the colour scheme is applied not only on the dashboard and seats, but even on the door cards.

Another major change is the redesigned dashboard, which drops the halo-like loop around the driver. The current design has an ergonomic drawback, as it leaves little room for a second cup holder. The spy shots, however, show that another cup holder has now been added. The halo loop also made the wireless charger and USB Type-C ports difficult to reach from the passenger side, an issue we noted in our BE 6 review. These changes are likely to address that as well.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq battery pack and range expectations

The BE 6 Sporteq is expected to remain largely unchanged from the regular model. It remains to be seen whether it will be available with both the 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs or, as a top-spec trim, only with the larger battery. Both versions use a rear electric motor producing up to 286hp and 380Nm, while the larger battery is said to offer a range of up to 682km on a single charge.

The BE 6 already has a long list of features, and these updates could further strengthen its appeal against midsize SUV rivals such as the Tata Sierra EV and Hyundai Creta Electric. The Mahindra BE 6 is currently priced between Rs 18.90 lakh and Rs 26.90 lakh, and a small price increase is likely with these updates. For reference, the Sierra EV is priced from Rs 18.79 lakh to Rs 25.99 lakh, while the Creta Electric costs between Rs 18.03 lakh and Rs 23.67 lakh.

JSW MG has teased its upcoming new SUV for India, which is to be called the Hector Tomahawk, our sources have indicated. The official launch date is set for August 26, 2026. Sold as the Wuling Eksion in the Indonesian market, the upcoming Hector Tomahawk will sit atop JSW MG’s new ADAPT (Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology) platform. The Hector Tomahawk will be launched as a fully electric model first, and will be slotted above the Hector in the brand’s line-up in India.

The official teaser confirms the rectangular LED headlamps first seen in spy shots. It also reveals details like the twin-element LED DRLs (daytime running lights) at the front and rear of the Hector Tomahawk. Observable details here also include the silver-finished alloy wheels, black plastic cladding under the doors, pronounced front fenders, pull-type door handles, prominent roof rails and wraparound LED tail-lamps. It’s clear from the teaser that the Hector Tomahawk sports chrome garnish along the windowline, plus a relatively flat roofline that leads to a roof spoiler.

In terms of dimensions, the JSW MG Hector Tomahawk is likely to have similar dimensions as the Wuling Eksion 7-seater that’s sold in Indonesia. For reference, the latter measures 4,745mm in length, 1,850mm in width, 1,755mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,9810mm. Its two-tone exterior colour options are likely to be offered in our market, too.

Apart from the exterior, the brand’s latest teaser also confirms a few details upcoming Hector Tomahawk’s interior. For starters, we now know that there will be 7 seats on offer, with a bench-style arrangement for the second row. The teaser also shows a beige colour theme for this cabin, along with a panoramic sunroof as part of the equipment that’ll be on offer. While more details are to be confirmed, the Hector Tomahawk EV could share much of the rest of its design and feature set with the Wuling Eksion. This means a minimalistic cabin with physical switchgear on and behind the two-spoke steering wheel, on the centre console and the doors.

Depending on the trim level, the equipment on offer include a powered tailgate, leatherette upholstery, powered and ventilated front seats, a 12.8-inch touch-infotainment head unit, an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display, a 50-watt wireless charger, automatic climate control with AC vents for the second and third rows, a 360-degree camera system, an electronic parking brake, six airbags, and an ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite, among others.

ADAPT platform supports battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, range-extender and strong-hybrid powertrains

While JSW MG is likely to reveal the Hector Tomahawk PHEV (plug-in hybrid) on August 26 as well, the brand’s teaser suggests that the ADAPT-based SUV will be introduced in its EV avatar first. The fully electric version of the Wuling Eksion EV that’s available in Indonesia is equipped with a single front-mounted electric motor that generates 201hp and 310Nm, allowing a claimed top speed of 160kph. It’s backed by a 69.2kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) battery pack with a CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) range of up to 530km.

The Hector Tomahawk PHEV is also likely to share its powertrain setup with its Eksion counterpart. For reference, the latter comes with a single electric motor that produces up to 195hp and 230Nm on its own, while the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine puts out 105hp and 130Nm. There’s also a 20.5kWh battery pack in the equation, and the maximum all-electric range of the Eksion PHEV is a claimed 125km. JSW MG’s ADAPT platform is capable of supporting battery-electric, plug-in hybrid, range-extender and strong-hybrid powertrains.

Volkswagen has been working on its version of the Skoda Kylaq, which we first reported on six months ago. Volkswagen India has now secured global approval for the project, which is estimated to cost around 25 million euros (Rs 275 crore). The green light paves the way for Volkswagen’s re-entry into India’s high-volume sub-four-metre vehicle market, which the brand had exited following the discontinuation of the Ameo compact sedan and Polo hatchback.

Volkswagen compact SUV: what to expect?

The programme will mark an important step in a broader expansion of Volkswagen’s India portfolio, allowing the brand to reach customers in segments below the Taigun and Virtus.

The new compact SUV will essentially be a badge-engineered version of the Kylaq, but will receive substantial design changes to give it a distinct Volkswagen identity. The differentiation is expected to extend to the exterior, interior, features and positioning.

The 1.0-litre TSI engine will be shared with the Kylaq

It will use the same 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine as the Kylaq, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options. At launch, the Volkswagen compact SUV will get an 8-speed automatic transmission rather than the 6-speed automatic currently offered on the Kylaq. The Kylaq, however, is also expected to receive the 8-speeder with its next update.

It’s unclear what the compact SUV will be named upon launch, but Volkswagen already sells the Tera in the Brazilian market that’s closely related to the Skoda Kylaq. It remains to be seen what it will be called here in India. Prices can be expected to range between Rs 8-13 lakh (ex-showroom). 

Scope of the compact SUV segment 

The model will give Volkswagen access to one of India’s largest vehicle categories. The broader sub-four-metre SUV market, comprising compact and micro-SUVs, currently generates monthly sales of around 1.1 lakh units. The category accounts for around 30 percent of India’s passenger vehicle sales and more than half of utility vehicle volumes. Its growth has been supported by hatchback buyers moving to SUVs, the drastic reduction of GST from 28 percent to 18 percent last year on cars meeting prescribed length and engine-capacity limits, and the availability of multiple powertrain options.

The market is led by Tata Motors with the Punch and Nexon, followed by Maruti Suzuki with the Fronx and Brezza. Sister brand Skoda too has grown significantly after the launch of the Kylaq last year, further underscoring the need for a compact SUV in VW’s portfolio. 

This will mark VW’s return to the compact SUV space since the Polo was discontinued in 2022. 

Volkswagen’s locally produced portfolio is currently limited to the Taigun and Virtus, both positioned above the compact vehicle market. The Kylaq-based SUV will lower the entry point to the Volkswagen brand and give it access to a substantially larger customer base.

Additional volumes from the compact SUV could also improve capacity utilisation at Skoda Auto Volkswagen India’s Chakan plant and deliver better economies of scale, helping lower costs for both Volkswagen and Skoda.

Since their inception, Ultraviolette Automotive has been focussed on the premium end of the EV two-wheeler market with their products prices from Rs 2.49 lakh to Rs 4.59 lakh, a challenge for high sales numbers. However, with the changing winds in the ICE world, Ultraviolette looks to have turned a corner for the better. With almost no direct competition, this shouldn’t be a surprise, but it’s noteworthy regardless.

Largest EV motorcycle monthly sales in July 2026

Only behind Revolt and Oben

As per the retail sales data on the Vaahan portal, Ultraviolette Automotive has delivered 694 units in July 2026, a 406 percent increase compared to last year. Till July 2026, the brand has sold 3200 vehicles, the best since the brand was founded in 2023. Although the increase in sales numbers could be attributed to them offering more products, it’s hard not to consider this a sign of premium motorcycle buyers now trusting EV motorcycles more.

The brand is showing no signs of slowing down either. Already present in 40 locations across India, the brand intends to increase that number to 100 by the end of 2026. It’s worth mentioning that they had recently opened their first showroom in the North east, in Aizwal, Mizoram. The focussed efforts from the brand should help them finish the year on a high note, considering the upcoming festive season.

If we consider the sales numbers of other EV manufacturers who sell motorcycles, the brands ahead of Ultraviolette are Revolt Motors (6,876 units so far in 2026) and Oben Electric (3,347 units so far in 2026). However, it should be noted that Ultraviolette operates at a considerably higher premium level compared to these two brands. Other EV manufacturers who currently offer EV motorcycles in their lineup are Ola, KLB Komaki, Matter Motor Works, Okaya EV, Wardwizard Innovations, and the latest entrant Royal Enfield with their Flying Flea sub brand.

In addition to their current lineup of four motorcycles (F77 Mach 2, F77 Superstreet, X-47, and X-47 Desert Wing), Ultraviolette is also preparing to launch their first-ever scooter, the Tesseract, and an off-roader, the Shockwave. The Shockwave, starting at Rs 1.75 lakh, is aimed at eco-friendly and efficient city commutes and short weekend, adventure-focussed rides. The Tesseract on the other hand is expected to be priced at Rs 1.45 lakh with a claimed 261km IDC range and a top speed of 125kph. Deliveries for the Shockwave were previously supposed to start in Q2 2026 (we’re currently in Q3), and the Tesseract delivery has been delayed to Q1 of 2027.

What made this possible for Ultraviolette

The brand has upcoming challenges and opportunities

The two biggest factors that look to have helped the brand increase their numbers are the BaaS option from the brand for all their motorcycles and of course, the uncertainty surrounding ICE vehicles at the moment. The brand, however, is also looking to improve their existing international presence. Speaking to Autocar Professional, the CEO Narayan Subramaniam said “India is a key market but we were clear right at the start that we need to take this brand global. Europe is critical because it has amongst the most stringent certification processes. While the F-77 has been certified for sale in Europe, certification for the X-47 is at an advanced stage, and the bike should hit the European market this year as well. At present, we are in about 10 countries across Europe, including Germany, France, the UK, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.”

With their current momentum and the upcoming favourable winds, the brand is looking to increase their numbers and subsequently their market share further. The only other player currently capable to take them head on, surprisingly, is Royal Enfield, who started selling their Flying Flea C6 in April 2026 with a Scrambler-like S6 on the way; but, their sales numbers are much lower with the brand selling a total of 124 units till July 2026. That said, the Flying Flea C6 is currently available only in Bengaluru.

Developments on the EV motorcycle space have been slow mainly because customers are expected to pay higher prices for a less capable machine for the money, especially compared to their ICE counterparts. The EV two-wheeler market has so far been carried forward by scooters. As such, EV motorcycles doing even a small fraction of the 13 million vehicle sales done by ICE two-wheelers should be phenomenal, and assuming Ultraviolette Automotive continues to make the right moves, it should remain a key name in the field.
