kia sorento launched : किआ इंडिया ने भारत के प्रीमियम थ्री-रो SUV सेगमेंट में कदम रखते हुए अपनी ग्लोबल SUV Kia Sorento को भारत में लॉन्च कर दिया है। इसकी शुरुआती एक्स-शोरूम कीमत ₹27.99 लाख रखी गई है। वहीं, इसका Hybrid मॉडल ₹29.99 लाख की शुरुआती कीमत पर उपलब्ध होगा।

Kia Sorento के साथ कंपनी ने भारत में पहली बार Hybrid पावरट्रेन पेश किया है। इसके अलावा, भारत-स्पेक Sorento में Kia AI Assistant भी पेश किया गया है, जिसमें रियल-टाइम Generative AI की क्षमता है। कंपनी के मुताबिक, यह तकनीक पहली बार वैश्विक स्तर पर Sorento में पेश की गई है। Kia Sorento की आधिकारिक डिलीवरी 4 सितंबर 2026 से देशभर में शुरू हो गई है।

 

भारत में पहली बार Hybrid पावरट्रेन

 

Kia Sorento को Hybrid और Diesel, दो पावरट्रेन विकल्पों के साथ पेश किया गया है। Hybrid मॉडल में Smartstream 1.6 Turbo GDI Hybrid इंजन मिलता है। इस इंजन से 180 PS की पावर और 265 Nm का टॉर्क मिलता है। इसके साथ 65 PS का इलेक्ट्रिक मोटर दिया गया है, जो 264 Nm का टॉर्क पैदा करता है। Hybrid पावरट्रेन को 6-स्पीड ऑटोमैटिक गियरबॉक्स से जोड़ा गया है।

 

दूसरा विकल्प Smartstream 2.2 Diesel इंजन है, जो 193 PS की पावर और 442 Nm का टॉर्क देता है। इसे 8-स्पीड Dual Clutch Transmission (8DCT) के साथ जोड़ा गया है। दोनों पावरट्रेन में Eco, Normal, Smart और Sport ड्राइव मोड दिए गए हैं।

 

Hybrid के साथ AWD का भी विकल्प

 

Kia Sorento अपने सेगमेंट की पहली SUV है जिसमें Hybrid पावरट्रेन के साथ All-Wheel Drive (AWD) का विकल्प दिया गया है। Hybrid और Diesel दोनों पावरट्रेन AWD के साथ उपलब्ध हैं। इनमें Snow, Sand और Mud जैसे Terrain Modes दिए गए हैं, जो अलग-अलग परिस्थितियों में बेहतर ट्रैक्शन और टॉर्क डिस्ट्रीब्यूशन में मदद करते हैं।

 

4,815 mm लंबी और 1,900 mm चौड़ी SUV

 

Sorento को Kia के ग्लोबल N3 प्लेटफॉर्म पर तैयार किया गया है। इसकी लंबाई 4,815 mm, चौड़ाई 1,900 mm, व्हीलबेस 2,815 mm और रूफ रेल्स के साथ ऊंचाई 1,785 mm है। कंपनी के अनुसार, यह अपने सेगमेंट की सबसे लंबी और चौड़ी SUV है। इसका बड़ा आकार तीनों रो में ज्यादा जगह उपलब्ध कराने में मदद करता है। SUV के फ्रंट में Kia Digital Tiger Face, Crystal Cube LED Projection Headlamps और Star Map LED DRLs दिए गए हैं। पीछे Star Map LED Tail Lamps मिलते हैं। इसके अलावा SUV में Satin Chrome फिनिश वाली फ्रंट और रियर स्किड प्लेट, Satin Chrome बेल्टलाइन और इंटीग्रेटेड रियर स्पॉयलर भी दिया गया है। Sorento में 18-इंच Sporty Crystal Cut Alloy Wheels और 19-इंच Premium Crystal Cut Alloy Wheels का विकल्प मिलता है।

 

प्रीमियम केबिन में 12.3-इंच के दो डिस्प्ले

 

Kia Sorento के केबिन को प्रीमियम और टेक्नोलॉजी से लैस बनाया गया है। इसमें Panoramic Curved Display Panel मिलता है, जिसमें 31.24 cm यानी 12.3-इंच HD Touchscreen Navigation Cockpit और 12.3-इंच HD Digital Instrument Cluster शामिल हैं। इसके साथ Windshield Head-Up Display और Advanced Digital IRVM दिया गया है। SUV में Smoky Black & Grey और टॉप HTX वेरिएंट में Black & Olive Brown इंटीरियर थीम का विकल्प मिलता है। इसमें Dual Pane Panoramic Sunroof और 64-कलर Ambient Mood Lighting भी दी गई है।

 

6 और 7-सीटर दोनों विकल्प

 

Kia Sorento को 6-सीटर और 7-सीटर कॉन्फिगरेशन में पेश किया गया है। पहली रो में 10-Way Power Driver और Co-Passenger Seats, Lumbar Adjustment, Relaxation Power Seats, Driver Seat Ergo Function और Integrated Memory System जैसे फीचर्स दिए गए हैं। Sorento की खासियत यह है कि इसमें पहली रो के अलावा दूसरी रो में भी Ventilated Seats मिलती हैं। सीटों में 3-स्टेप कूलिंग फंक्शन दिया गया है। 6-सीटर मॉडल में दूसरी रो में Captain Seats मिलती हैं, जबकि 7-सीटर मॉडल में 60:40 स्प्लिट रियर सीटें दी गई हैं। दोनों में Slide, Recline और Walk-in फंक्शन मिलता है।

 इसके अलावा 4-Way Power Boss Mode, Wing Type Headrests, तीसरी रो में 50:50 Split-Folding Seats और दूसरी-तीसरी रो के लिए Rear AC Vents दिए गए हैं।

 

Kia Sorento में पहली बार Real-Time Generative AI

 

Kia Sorento का सबसे बड़ा टेक्नोलॉजी अपडेट इसका Kia AI Assistant है। भारत-स्पेक Sorento में यह तकनीक पहली बार वैश्विक स्तर पर पेश की गई है। Kia AI Assistant रियल-टाइम सर्च पर आधारित जानकारी उपलब्ध कराता है। यह सामान्य बातचीत को समझने के साथ Follow-up Questions का जवाब भी दे सकता है। “Hey Kia” Wake Word के जरिए इसे हैंड्स-फ्री इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है। यह चुनिंदा वाहन फंक्शंस, जैसे Air Conditioning और Windows को भी कंट्रोल कर सकता है।

Kia ने पहली बार भारत में Personalized Display Themes भी पेश किए हैं। Sorento के Cluster और Infotainment सिस्टम में Disney, Marvel और Pixar पर आधारित कुल 9 थीम मिलेंगी। इन थीम के जरिए ग्राहक डैशबोर्ड के रंग, एनिमेशन और स्क्रीन लेआउट को अपनी पसंद के अनुसार बदल सकेंगे। दिसंबर 2026 से Kia Connect Store भी Sorento के लिए शुरू किया जाएगा। इसके जरिए ग्राहक चुनिंदा Feature-on-Demand सेवाओं को खरीद सकेंगे।

Kia Sorento का उत्पादन भारत में Kia India की अनंतपुर, आंध्र प्रदेश स्थित मैन्युफैक्चरिंग फैसिलिटी में किया गया है। कंपनी ने भारतीय सड़कों और ग्राहकों की जरूरतों को ध्यान में रखते हुए इसमें कई बदलाव किए हैं। इनमें India-specific grille detailing, Acoustic Windshield और Black High Glossy Bridge Type Roof Rails शामिल हैं। कंपनी का दावा है कि Acoustic Windshield, Door Trim Insulator और अन्य इंजीनियरिंग सुधारों की वजह से Sorento में बेहद शांत केबिन और बेहतर NVH प्रदर्शन मिलता है।

Kia India dealer partner Incheon Kia has set a new national record for the most electric cars of a single model delivered in a single day. 150 units of the recently launched Syros EV were handed over to customers by Incheon Kia in Kochi on August 17.

Incheon Kia sets a completely fresh record with the Syros EV

Coinciding with Malayalam New Year, Incheon Kia’s mega-delivery feat was certified by the India Book of Records. This is an entirely new record, as India Book of Records does not have any prior records for maximum single-model EVs delivered in a single day. The 150 cars formed the first batch of Kia Syros EVs delivered to customers in Kochi.

Following the deliveries, the Syros EVs were flagged off individually by senior Kia India executives, including MD and CEO Gwanggu Lee (pictured). Incheon Kia said it has received more than 650 bookings for the Syros EV, with 150 of those cars now delivered. The dealer is also closing on 50,000 sales since its inception seven years ago, with 10,000 sales projected for this year alone.

Kia Syros EV details

Launched on July 23, the Syros EV is Kia’s second mass-market electric model for the Indian market. The compact SUV is offered with 42kWh and 51.4kWh battery options, both of which are wired up to a 255Nm front-mounted motor producing 135hp and 171hp, respectively. In terms of MIDC-claimed range, the 42kWh battery manages 443km, while the 51.4kWh pack is rated at 526km. Pricing for the Syros EV starts at Rs 13.5 lakh and top off at Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom), and it rivals the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV 3XO.

Ahead of the Sorento’s arrival in India on September 4, 2026, Kia India has confirmed the availability of AWD on the SUV in a teaser. This makes it the first ICE-powered Kia model in India to have AWD. Additionally, the brand has also confirmed Live Gen AI, an AI-powered in-car voice assistant feature. 

  1. Sorento will be the first strong-hybrid and AWD Kia model in India.
  2. It will be Kia’s ICE-powered flagship SUV for our market. 

Kia Sorento AWD: Additional details

The Sorento will be offered with strong-hybrid petrol and diesel engines. While exact specs remain under wraps, the global-spec Sorento gets a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong-hybrid setup with a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, producing 238hp and 380Nm. In diesel guise, the Sorento is likely to use the Carnival’s 202hp, 440Nm, 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine. Global-spec versions of the Sorento have AWD with both the strong hybrid and diesel engines. But it remains to be seen if AWD is offered with both or either of the powertrains on the India-spec model. 

Meanwhile, Kia’s Live Gen AI feature in the Sorento allows drivers to have natural conversations with the in-car AI agent, whilst also obeying commands to control certain car functions and features. 

Kia Sorento: Expected price

Likely to be priced in the ballpark of Rs 30 lakh to Rs 35 lakh ex-showroom

The Kia Sorento will be heavily localised in India with an expected price of Rs 30-35 lakh. With the Sorento getting AWD, it will take on the likes of the Volkswagen Tayron (Rs 41.99 lakh to Rs 47.74 lakh) and the Skoda Kodiaq (Rs 36.99 lakh to Rs 46.99 lakh), which also come with AWD, while the Jeep Meridian (Rs 23.33 lakh to Rs 37.92 lakh) gets a 4×4 drive layout.

At the same time, the Korean carmaker is providing appealing offers on select models currently across its lineup in August 2026. Except for the EV6 and EV9, the remaining models in Kia’s portfolio get cash discounts, exchange or scrappage offers, and corporate benefits.

Benefits of up to Rs 1.2 lakh 

The Carens Clavis MPV is available with benefits of up to Rs 1.2 lakh. MY26 models get a cash discount of Rs 10,000, a loyalty benefit of Rs 20,000, a corporate offer of up to Rs 15,000 and either an exchange or scrappage bonus of up to Rs 30,000. 

However, MY25 models of the Clavis get up to Rs 75,000 cash discount, and have the same loyalty, exchange/scrappage benefits as the MY26 models, but miss out on a corporate offer. Moreover, only MY25 turbo-petrol variants of the MPV get free extended warranty coverage. Priced from Rs 11.27 lakh to Rs 21.67 lakh, it rivals the likes of the Maruti XL6. 

Kia Carnival offers in August 2026 

Benefits of up to Rs 1.5 lakh

At up to Rs 1.5 lakh, the Carnival receives the highest benefits among all Kia models this month. MY26 versions either an exchange or scrappage offer of up to Rs 1 lakh, and a corporate offer of up to Rs 50,000, while MY25 versions get only a scrappage offer of Rs 20,000. The Carnival is Kia’s most expensive ICE model in our market and is priced at Rs 59.65 lakh.

Kia Carens Clavis EV offers in August 2026

Benefits of up to Rs 55,000 

The all-electric counterpart of the Carens Clavis is offered with benefits of up to Rs 55,000. MY26 versions of the Carens Clavis EV are eligible for a loyalty benefit and corporate offer of Rs 20,0000 and up to Rs 15,000, respectively. Additionally, it’s also available with either a scrappage or exchange offer of Rs 20,000. For MY25 models, only the extended range (ER) variants come with loyalty and scrappage benefits of Rs 20,000 each. Currently, the most affordable electric MPV in our market, it has a price range of Rs 18.04 lakh to Rs 25 lakh. It is Kia’s answer to the BYD e MAX 7 and an MPV alternative to the likes of the Mahindra XEV 9S.

Kia Syros offers in August 2026

Benefits of up to Rs 50,000

The Syros compact SUV is available with benefits of up to Rs 50,000. The new MY26 model gets a cash discount of up to Rs 10,000, a corporate offer of up to Rs 15,000 and either an exchange or scrappage offer of Rs 20,000. On the other hand, MY25 versions get an exchange or scrappage offer of up to Rs 50,000. Like the Carens Clavis, even the Syros gets free extended warranty. It has a price range of Rs 8.42 lakh to Rs 15.82 lakh, and takes on the likes of the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue, and Maruti Brezza.

Kia Sonet offers in August 2026

Benefits of up to Rs 45,000

The most affordable Kia offering in India, the Sonet is offered with benefits of up to Rs 45,000. For MY26 models, you get a cash discount of up to Rs 10,000, a corporate offer of up to Rs 15,000, and either an exchange or scrappage benefit of up to Rs 20,000, while MY25 versions of the Sonet only get a scrappage offer. Priced from Rs 7.41 lakh to Rs 14.37 lakh, it takes on rivals like the Skoda Kushaq, Tata Nexon, and contenders alongside the Syros.

Benefits of up to Rs 40,000

The second-generation Seltos, which was introduced earlier this year, is available with benefits of up to Rs 40,000. These include a loyalty benefit and scrappage bonus of Rs 20,000 each. 

Meanwhile, the first-generation Seltos only gets a scrappage offer. The second-generation Seltos is priced from Rs 11 lakh and up to Rs 21.82 lakh. The Seltos is Kia’s contender in the mid-size SUV space, which consists of rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Renault Duster, Tata Sierra, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Citroen Aircross, Maruti Victoris and Grand Vitara.

Benefits of up to Rs 35,000

The budget Kia Carens MPV is offered with benefits up to Rs 35,000. MY26 models get a corporate offer of up to Rs 15,000 and either a scrappage or exchange bonus of up to Rs 20,000. On the other hand, MY25 versions get only a scrappage offer. The Carens rivals the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Rumion, while its price ranges between Rs 11.02 lakh and Rs 12.88 lakh.

The Kia Sorento three-row SUV will go on sale in India on September 4, 2026. It will be positioned above the Seltos as Kia India’s flagship ICE SUV, and will also be the carmaker’s first hybrid model for the Indian market. Official bookings for the Sorento opened very recently too.

Since the Sorento is anticipated to be locally assembled, expect pricing to start at around Rs 40 lakh (ex-showroom). At that price point, the Sorento will rival premium three-row SUVs like the Volkswagen Tayron, MG Majestor, Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, and Jeep Meridian.

Kia Sorento powertrain options

Kia will offer the Sorento with hybrid and diesel powertrains in India. If the international-spec Sorento is anything to go by, the India-spec model could feature a 1.6-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol hybrid setup developing 238hp and 380Nm, along with a 2.2-litre diesel engine outputting 202hp and 441Nm – this mill is used in the Kia Carnival too. Both Sorento engines are likely to be paired with automatic transmissions. Though the global-spec Sorento can be had in FWD and AWD guises, it remains to be seen whether the latter drive layout will be available for Indian buyers.

The Sorento sports a subtly aggressive design, with highlights like vertically oriented LED headlamps and tail-lamps, T-shaped amber-coloured DRLs, a wide ‘Tiger Nose’ grille, dual-tone alloy wheels, mildly flared wheel arches, and muscular bumpers. In terms of dimensions, the global-spec Sorento measures 4,815mm in length, 1,900mm in width, and 1,700mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2,815mm. Should these hold true for the India-spec model, the Sorento will be larger than most of its rivals.

Inside, the India-spec Sorento is likely to be offered with 6-seat and 7-seat configurations. Boot space is rated at 179 litres with all three rows up, extendable to a cavernous 1,996 litres. Notable elements on the premium-looking dashboard include dual 12.3-inch displays, a four-spoke steering wheel with an offset Kia logo, large vertical AC vents on both extremities, a touch-capacitive panel on the centre console, and a rotary drive selector.

The Sorento is expected to pack creature comforts like ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, a heads-up display, an electronic parking brake, ambient lighting, a wireless charging pad, and more.

Kia Sorento Hybrid: कई सालों से Kia का भारतीय कार पोर्टफोलियो पेट्रोल, डीजल और इलेक्ट्रिक गाड़ियों पर ही आधारित रहा है। लेकिन अब इसमें बड़ा बदलाव होने जा रहा है। कंपनी ने भारतीय बाजार के लिए Sorento Hybrid की झलक दिखाई है, और कुछ चुनिंदा डीलरशिप ने इसके आने से पहले ही ग्राहकों की पूछताछ और प्री-बुकिंग लेना शुरू कर दिया है। हालांकि, Kia ने अभी तक लॉन्च डेट या कीमत का ऐलान नहीं किया है, लेकिन टीजर से यह पक्का हो गया है कि यह थ्री-रो वाली SUV जल्द ही भारतीय शोरूम में आने वाली है।

सबसे खास बात यह है कि Sorento Hybrid भारत में Kia की पहली हाइब्रिड पैसेंजर कार बन सकती है, वो भी ऐसे समय में जब देश में स्ट्रॉन्ग-हाइब्रिड SUVs की मांग लगातार बढ़ रही है। बता दें कि Kia की यह नई गाड़ी ग्राहकों को एक नया विकल्प दे सकती है।

Kia Sorento कोई नई SUV नहीं है। यह गाड़ी कई सालों से कंपनी के ग्लोबल पोर्टफोलियो का हिस्सा रही है, लेकिन भारतीय बाजार में अब तक इसकी एंट्री नहीं हुई थी। अब नए टीजर के जरिए Kia ने साफ संकेत दे दिया है कि कंपनी इस SUV को भारत लाने की तैयारी में है। बता दें कि Kia के लिए, यह सिर्फ एक और SUV लॉन्च नहीं है, बल्कि यह भारत में हाइब्रिड पैसेंजर व्हीकल मार्केट में ब्रांड का पहला कदम है। वहीं, कंपनी यह सेगमेंट इसलिए भी बढ़ रहा है क्योंकि खरीदार पूरी तरह से इलेक्ट्रिक गाड़ी पर स्विच किए बिना बेहतर फ्यूल एफिशिएंसी वाली गाड़ियां चाहते हैं। फिलहाल, कई शहरों में डीलर-लेवल पर प्री-बुकिंग शुरू हो चुकी है। हालांकि, Kia India ने अभी तक आधिकारिक तौर पर बुकिंग रकम या ग्राहकों को डिलीवरी शुरू होने की तारीख का खुलासा नहीं किया है।

खरीदार क्या उम्मीद कर सकते हैं?

Kia ने अभी तक भारत में आने वाली Sorento Hybrid के फीचर्स और स्पेसिफिकेशन की पूरी जानकारी नहीं दी है। इसलिए इसके बारे में ज्यादा जानकारी लॉन्च के करीब ही सामने आएगी। हालांकि, ग्लोबल मॉडल को देखकर अंदाजा लगाया जा सकता है कि भारतीय मॉडल में क्या-क्या खास हो सकता है। विदेशों में मिलने वाली Kia Sorento Hybrid में 1.6 लीटर टर्बो पेट्रोल इंजन के साथ इलेक्ट्रिक मोटर दी गई है। लेकिन Kia ने अभी यह पुष्टि नहीं की है कि भारत में भी यही इंजन सेटअप मिलेगा या नहीं।

ग्लोबल Sorento Hybrid में तीन रो वाली सीटिंग, डुअल डिजिटल डिस्प्ले, कनेक्टेड कार फीचर्स, पैनोरमिक सनरूफ और एडवांस ड्राइवर असिस्टेंस सिस्टम (ADAS) जैसे फीचर्स मिलते हैं। अब इनमें से कौन-कौन से फीचर्स भारत आने वाली Sorento Hybrid में दिए जाएंगे, इसकी जानकारी लॉन्च के समय ही पता चलेगी।

इसके बाद क्या होगा?

Kia के टीजर से Sorento Hybrid को लेकर एक बड़ी जानकारी तो मिल गई है, लेकिन अभी भी कई सवालों के जवाब बाकी हैं। कंपनी ने अभी तक इसकी लॉन्च टाइमलाइन, वेरिएंट, कीमत और भारत में मिलने वाले खास फीचर्स का खुलासा नहीं किया है। इन्हीं जानकारियों से तय होगा कि Kia Sorento Hybrid भारतीय बाजार में किस सेगमेंट में अपनी जगह बनाएगी।

फिलहाल, सबसे अहम बात Kia India की स्ट्रैटेजी है। कंपनी पहली बार अपनी भारतीय पैसेंजर गाड़ियों की रेंज में हाइब्रिड टेक्नोलॉजी शामिल करने की तैयारी कर रही है, जिससे उसका पावरट्रेन पोर्टफोलियो पारंपरिक पेट्रोल, डीजल और बैटरी-इलेक्ट्रिक मॉडल्स से आगे बढ़ेगा।

फिलहाल, अब यह देखना दिलचस्प होगा कि कीमत और पोजिशनिंग के आधार पर Sorento Hybrid प्रीमियम SUV सेगमेंट में कितना असर डाल पाती है। हालांकि, इसकी एंट्री से भारतीय ग्राहकों के पास आने वाले समय में एक और इलेक्ट्रिफाइड SUV विकल्प जरूर उपलब्ध होगा।
