किन कारणों से तय होती हैं ईंधन की कीमतें?

कच्चे तेल की कीमतें:

पेट्रोल और डीजल का उत्पादन मुख्य रूप से कच्चे तेल से होता है। जब अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर कच्चे तेल की कीमतें बढ़ती हैं, तो इसका असर सीधे भारतीय बाजार पर पड़ता है।

डॉलर के मुकाबले रुपया:

भारत अधिकतर कच्चा तेल आयात करता है, और यह डॉलर में खरीदा जाता है। यदि रुपया कमजोर होता है, तो ईंधन महंगा हो जाता है।

सरकारी टैक्स और शुल्क:

The midsize SUV segment is not only one of the most contested among combustion-powered cars but also among electric vehicles, with 12 different EVs on sale. This form factor allows carmakers to offer large enough batteries for a usable range while also equipping them with the latest in-car tech at a competitive price. Here we have ranked all the midsize electric SUVs currently available in India as per their ARAI-claimed range. Let’s find out which model can go the farthest on a single charge.

12. MG ZS EV

The ZS EV is the electric equivalent of the MG Astor, adapted from an ICE platform. While it is the oldest midsize electric SUV currently on sale in India, its 50kWh battery pack is on par with even the newer offerings. However, a claimed range of 461km is just fine and places it last on this list. The battery powers a front-axle-mounted (FWD) electric motor that produces 177hp and 280Nm.

This is likely due to different tuning of the drivetrain, as the lower trims get a 177hp, 250Nm motor, while the higher-spec trims are offered with a 204hp, 310Nm unit.

The Curvv is also offered in a combustion-powered avatar, with petrol and diesel powertrain options.

While power figures are 135hp and 171hp for the 42kWh and 51.4kWh batteries, respectively, the torque is 255Nm for both.

8. BYD Atto 3

The BYD Atto 3 is the only model here that is not locally made in India. It is brought to India via the CKD (completely knocked down kits) route, which explains its expensive price tag. At the higher end of its price range, it offers the larger battery pack with a claimed range of 521km, which is less than the Tata-Mahindra rivals that offer over 600km of range at a similar price. The Atto 3 is a born EV and therefore does not have an ICE equivalent. At 4.45 metres long, it is also a tad larger than other SUVs on this list. Like the Creta Electric, it gets two battery pack options, both mated to a 204hp, 310Nm front-axle-mounted electric motor.

7. Vinfast VF7

The FWD version produces 204hp and 310Nm, while the AWD iteration puts out 353hp and 500Nm. Interestingly, not only is the VF7 the most affordable EV in India with an AWD setup, but it is also one of the fastest mass-market offerings with a claimed 0-100kph time of 5.8 seconds. Both its battery packs offer a claimed range on par with most other SUVs in this segment.

6. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki’s first EV in India, the e Vitara, is the most affordable midsize electric SUV in India. Moreover, it is offered with a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, like the ZS EV, which lowers the upfront price. It is available with two battery pack options but only with a front-axle-mounted electric motor, unlike the international-spec EV that gets an AWD option too. While the 49kWh version produces 144hp, the 61kWh makes 174hp; the 193Nm torque is common for both. At a top-end price of Rs 19.79 lakh, the e Vitara’s claimed range of 543km is comparatively higher than similarly priced rivals, which mostly quote sub-500km figures.

5. Tata Harrier EV

The Tata Harrier EV sits at the top of Tata’s EV lineup. It gets an AWD layout, but this drivetrain is offered with the higher-spec trims with the 75kWh battery pack. Lower trims feature an RWD setup that produces 175hp and 315Nm. The AWD version gets the same rear-axle motor along with a 116hp front-axle-mounted unit for a total of 504Nm. With a claimed 0-100kph sprint time of 6.3 seconds, the Harrier EV AWD is slightly slower than the Vinfast VF7 and also costs more.

The XEV 9e is a born-electric SUV, which, incidentally, uses BYD’s proprietary Blade cell technology in its battery pack. This rear-wheel-drive model’s motor produces 231hp with the 59kWh battery and 286hp with the 79kWh unit; torque is 380Nm for both. The claimed range is over 650km for the 79kWh version. Although the XEV 9e leans towards the expensive side, its specifications help it offer great value for the price.

3. Mahindra XEV 9S

The Mahindra XEV 9S is the first mass-market 3-row electric SUV in India, and it is the only model on this list to get three battery pack options. All come paired with a rear-wheel-drive motor that produces 380Nm but have different power outputs – 231hp in the 59kWh version, 245hp in the 70kWh version and 286hp in the 79kWh version. Notably, even though the XEV 9S gets bigger battery packs and an additional row compared to the XEV 9e, it has a lower price tag, making it offer more value for less money.

2. Tata Sierra EV

Up to 665km claimed range

The Sierra EV is Tata’s latest addition to its EV range, slotting between the Cuvv EV and Harrier EV. It is powered by either a 63kWh or a 75kWh battery pack from the Harrier. The latter option also offers an AWD layout, while an RWD layout is standard. With the 63kWh battery pack, the motor produces 238hp, while it delivers 208hp in the 75kWh guise, with torque at 315Nm in both versions. Meanwhile, AWD versions add a front-mounted motor developing 140hp, while torque is bumped to 504Nm. Tata claims a 0-100kph time of 5.8 seconds for the AWD version, equaling that of the VF7’s.

भारत में E20 (20 फीसदी एथेनॉल मिश्रण वाले) पेट्रोल का दायरा तेजी से बढ़ रहा है। इसके साथ ही आम जनता के बीच गाड़ी के माइलेज में गिरावट और इंजन को संभावित नुकसान पहुंचने की बहस भी तेज हो गई है। उपभोक्ताओं की इसी चिंता और भ्रम को दूर करने के लिए ऑयल और एनर्जी इंडस्ट्री के दो दिग्गज एक्सपर्ट्स शनिवार को सामने आए और उन्होंने इस ईंधन से जुड़े तमाम मिथकों की सच्चाई उजागर की। मुंबई में आयोजित एक हाई-लेवल मीडिया ब्रीफिंग के दौरान समाचार एजेंसी ANI से बात करते हुए बीपीसीएल (BPCL) के रिटायर्ड डायरेक्टर (रिफाइनरीज) आर रामचंद्रन और आईजीएल (IGL) के रिटायर्ड चेयरमैन व बीपीसीएल के डायरेक्टर राज कुमार दुबे ने लैब के पुख्ता डेटा के आधार पर सड़क के व्यक्तिगत अनुभवों से पैदा हुए भ्रम को दूर किया और E20 को भविष्य का ईंधन बताया।

क्या E20 पेट्रोल से सच में 10% घट जाती है माइलेज?

वाहन चालकों की ओर से अक्सर यह शिकायत आती है कि एथेनॉल ब्लेंडेड पेट्रोल के इस्तेमाल से गाड़ी की माइलेज में 10 फीसदी तक की गिरावट आ रही है। इस पर बात करते हुए आर रामचंद्रन ने साफ किया कि व्यापक इंस्टीट्यूशनल टेस्टिंग से पता चलता है कि माइलेज पर इसका सिर्फ मामूली असर पड़ता है। रामचंद्रन ने समझाया कि कुछ इससे अलग मामले भी हो सकते हैं, जिन्हें अलग तरीके से ठीक किया जा सकता है। उन्होंने इशारा किया कि वाहनों का पुराना होना, सामान्य टूट-फूट या अग्रेसिवी सिटी ड्राइविंग जैसी स्थिति भी कम माइलेज के पीछे की असल वजह हो सकती है।

इस मुद्दे पर राज कुमार दुबे ने एक बेहद दिलचस्प बात जोड़ी। उन्होंने कहा कि वाहन चालक पिछले एक साल से भी ज्यादा समय से बिना जाने ही E20 जैसा ब्लेंडेड ईंधन खरीद रहे हैं। दुबे ने कहा कि अचानक अगर आप यह सवाल उठाते हैं कि माइलेज नाटकीय रूप से कम हो रहा है तो इन बातों का कोई तार्किक आधार नहीं है। उन्होंने उपभोक्ताओं से अपील की कि वे किसी व्यक्तिगत राय के बजाय टेस्टिंग एजेंसियों के दावों पर भरोसा करें।

क्या 2023 से पहले की गाड़ियों के इंजन हो जाएंगे खराब?

साल 2023 से पहले बनी देश की लाखों पुरानी गाड़ियों में सीधे तौर पर E20 ईंधन के इस्तेमाल की फैक्ट्री कंप्लायंस नहीं है। ऐसे में मैकेनिकल नुकसान के डर पर एक्सपर्ट्स ने स्थिति स्पष्ट की। राज कुमार दुबे ने बताया कि एक्सेलरेटेड टेस्टिंग से यह सामने आया है कि पुराने इंजनों के लिए दीर्घकालिक तौर पर सिर्फ मामूली बदलावों की ही जरूरत होगी। दुबे ने कहा कि बहुत पुराने वाहनों में रबर के पार्ट्स पर कुछ असर पड़ सकता है। सामान्य तौर पर मान लीजिए कि आप 10 साल में रबर पार्ट्स बदलना चाहते हैं तो इस ईंधन के साथ आपको रबर पार्ट्स को शायद आठ साल में बदलने पर विचार करना होगा। उन्होंने आगे कहा कि इतने बड़े राष्ट्रीय अभियान के लिए यह बहुत ही छोटी कीमत है।

इसके साथ ही आर रामचंद्रन ने बीमा से जुड़ी उन अफवाहों को भी खारिज कर दिया जिनमें दावा किया जा रहा था कि ऐसी गाड़ियों का इंश्योरेंस अमान्य हो जाएगा। उन्होंने स्पष्ट किया कि स्पष्ट अधिसूचनाएं इसकी पुष्टि करती हैं कि इंश्योरेंस पॉलिसियां पूरी तरह से वैध रहती हैं।

पर्यावरण को नुकसान और पानी की बर्बादी का सच

कुछ रिपोर्टों में यह दावा किया गया था कि एक लीटर एथेनॉल ईंधन के उत्पादन में 10000 लीटर तक पानी बर्बाद हो जाता है। इन पर्यावरण संबंधी चिंताओं को दोनों दिग्गजों ने सिरे से खारिज कर दिया। रामचंद्रन ने कहा कि कृषि उत्पादन में होने वाली पानी की खपत का बोझ एथेनॉल पर नहीं डाला जाना चाहिए। उन्होंने इस बात पर विशेष जोर दिया कि अधिकांश नए जमाने की डिस्टिलरीज 100% वाटर रीसाइक्लिंग और जीरो-इफ्लुएंट डिस्चार्ज के सिद्धांत पर काम कर रही हैं।

देश को मिल रहा है भारी आर्थिक फायदा

एक्सपर्ट्स ने बताया कि इस नीति से देश को बहुत बड़ा व्यापक आर्थिक लाभ मिल रहा है। सरकार को इससे 1.8 लाख करोड़ रुपये से 1,9 लाख करोड़ रुपये तक की विदेशी मुद्रा की बचत होने की उम्मीद है। राज कुमार दुबे ने ध्यान दिलाया कि यह नीति अंतरराष्ट्रीय बाजार में कच्चे तेल की उतार-चढ़ाव भरी कीमतों के खिलाफ एक सुरक्षा कवच का काम करती है। उन्होंने दलील देते हुए कहा कि अगर E20 पेट्रोल अस्तित्व में न होता और इस 20 प्रतिशत अतिरिक्त हिस्से को भी हमें विदेशों से आयात करना पड़ता तो इस देश में पेट्रोल की कीमत क्या होती? आज पेट्रोल के दाम 5 से 7 रुपये प्रति लीटर और ज्यादा बढ़ गए होते। उन्होंने ये भी कहा कि देश की पूंजी को घरेलू अर्थव्यवस्था के भीतर बनाए रखने से सीधा फायदा हमारे स्थानीय गन्ना किसानों को मिल रहा है और वे समृद्ध हो रहे हैं।

Top 10 Selling Cars in June: जून,2026 में भारत के कार मार्केट में टाटा मोटर्स पैसेंजर व्हीकल्स (TMPV) सबसे ज्यादा बढ़त हासिल करने वाली कंपनी रही। इस दौरान कंपनी की Punch SUV और Nexon SUV ने देश की टॉप 10 बिकने वाली कारों की सूची में पहला और दूसरा स्थान हासिल किया। वहीं, इस मजबूत प्रदर्शन के साथ कंपनी की घरेलू बिक्री में साल-दर-साल (y-o-y) 69% की बड़ी बढ़ोतरी दर्ज की गई।

इसके अलावा, Maruti Suzuki ने भी मार्केट में पकड़ बनाए रखते हुए लिस्ट में 6 मॉडल शामिल किए। जबकि Hyundai Motor India की Creta SUV प्रोडक्शन में कुछ समय की रुकावट के कारण लिस्ट से बाहर हो गई।

बता दें कि Tata Motors ने जून में घरेलू पैसेंजर व्हीकल (PV) की 63,083 यूनिट्स (इलेक्ट्रिक व्हीकल्स या EVs सहित) बेचीं, जो पिछले साल इसी महीने में 37,237 यूनिट्स थीं। कंपनी ने कहा कि Punch और Tiago के नए वर्जन्स को ‘बहुत जबरदस्त’ रिस्पॉन्स मिला है और सभी तरह के पावरट्रेन में बुकिंग तेजी से बढ़ी है, जबकि इलेक्ट्रिक कारों की बिक्री इस महीने रिकॉर्ड 14,800 यूनिट्स तक पहुंच गई।

पहले Punch SUV की बात करें तो, यह जून में भारत की सबसे ज्यादा बिकने वाली पैसेंजर व्हीकल बनी, जिसकी 21,006 यूनिट्स की बिक्री हुई। दूसरे नंबर पर Nexon रही, जिसकी 18,335 यूनिट्स बिकीं। तीसरे स्थान पर Maruti Suzuki की Dzire रही, जिसने 17,899 यूनिट्स की बिक्री के साथ देश की सबसे ज्यादा बिकने वाली सेडान का दर्जा बनाए रखा।

चौथे स्थान पर 16,952 यूनिट्स के साथ ‘Wagon R’ हैचबैक रही, जबकि ‘Ertiga’ MPV ने 16,111 यूनिट्स बेचकर टॉप पांच में जगह बनाई। Maruti Suzuki की ‘Swift’ हैचबैक 15,215 यूनिट्स के साथ छठे स्थान पर रही, और उसके बाद Mahindra ‘Scorpio’ SUV 14,097 यूनिट्स के साथ सातवें स्थान पर रही।

Maruti Suzuki की ‘Fronx’ SUV 13,135 यूनिट्स की बिक्री के साथ 8वें स्थान पर रही, जो ‘Baleno’ हैचबैक (12,488 यूनिट्स) से आगे रही। इसके अलावा, Hyundai की ‘Venue’ SUV 10,776 यूनिट्स की बिक्री के साथ टॉप 10 की लिस्ट में शामिल रही।

हालांकि टाटा मोटर्स ने टॉप 2 स्थान हासिल किए, लेकिन मारुति सुजुकी इस रैंकिंग में सबसे ज्यादा प्रतिनिधित्व करने वाली कंपनी रही, जिसके 6 मॉडल-Dzire, WagonR, Ertiga, Swift, Fronx और Baleno-टॉप 10 में शामिल रहे। इन मॉडल्स की कुल बिक्री 91,780 यूनिट रही, जो जून में टॉप 10 कारों की कुल बिक्री का 57% से ज्यादा है। इससे हैचबैक, सेडान, MPV और SUV सेगमेंट में कंपनी की मजबूत मौजूदगी का पता चलता है।

बता दें कि यह परफॉर्मेंस तब देखने को मिली जब जून में मारुति सुजुकी ने अपने मैन्युफैक्चरिंग प्लांट्स में एक हफ्ते के लिए मेंटेनेंस के कारण काम बंद रखा था, जिस दौरान कोई गाड़ी नहीं बनी थी।

रैंकिंग में Hyundai Creta का नाम नहीं

जून की रैंकिंग में एक खास नाम जो गायब था, वह है Hyundai Creta; यह कार देश की सबसे ज्यादा बिकने वाली कारों में हमेशा शामिल रही है। इसके रैंकिंग में शामिल न होने के पिछे एक सप्लायर प्लांट में आग लगने की वजह रही है, जिससे प्रोडक्शन में कुछ समय के लिए रुकावट आई और होलसेल बिक्री पर असर पड़ा। इसी कारण यह SUV टॉप 10 की लिस्ट से बाहर हो गई।

Hyundai Aura CNG real world fuel economy tested, explained

Launched in 2020, the Hyundai Aura has been available with a factory-fitted CNG option since its introduction. It is currently offered in three variants – S CNG (Rs 7.8 lakh), Corporate CNG (Rs 7.9 lakh) and SX CNG (Rs 8.6 lakh). We put the Aura CNG through our real-world fuel-efficiency tests to see how it fares

Hyundai Aura CNG fuel efficiency explained

Powering the Aura CNG is a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 69hp and 95.2Nm when running on CNG. Transmission duties are handled by a 5-speed manual gearbox.

In our tests, the Aura CNG returned 22.06km/kg in the city and 31.43km/kg on the highway, resulting in an overall average efficiency of 26.74km/kg. Based on these figures, owners can expect a real-world driving range of around 240km on a full tank of CNG.

Interestingly, when refilling the Aura’s empty 65-litre CNG tank, it accommodated 8.95kg of gas. Under favourable conditions, such as higher pump pressure and cooler ambient temperatures, the tank should be able to hold close to 10kg of CNG.

For context, the Maruti Dzire CNG is equipped with a smaller 55-litre CNG tank, while the Tata Tigor CNG features a larger 70-litre dual-cylinder setup.

Autocar India’s fuel-efficiency testing

Since CNG tanks are more difficult to fill consistently due to variables such as ambient temperature and pump pressure, we did not use our standard tankful-to-tankful methodology. Instead, for our real-world tests, we emptied the CNG tank and refilled it with 2kg of CNG. We then drove the vehicle in city conditions until the gas was exhausted. The same process was repeated for the highway run. Throughout both tests, the Aura was driven exclusively in CNG mode.

Before our real-world fuel efficiency tests, we maintain tyre pressures based on the manufacturer’s recommendations. These cars are driven in fixed city and highway loops in and around Navi Mumbai, and we maintain certain average speeds. Throughout the tests, there is only one person in each car, and the aircon is set to fan speed 2 with temperature dialed to the lowest position. We operate other electricals, such as the audio system, indicators and wipers, just like a regular user would. Periodic driver swaps further neutralise variations in driver patterns.

क्यों बढ़े LPG सिलेंडर का दाम?

अमेरिका-ईरान-इजरायल युद्ध के कारण स्टेट ऑफ होर्मुज बंद होने से LPG की सप्लाई में आई दिक्कतों के कारण कमर्शियल और घरेलू सिलेंडर के दामों में बढ़ोतरी देखने को मिली। बता दें की कमर्शियल सिलेंडर के दाम मार्च से जून तक कई बार बढ़ाए जा चुके हैं। जबकि, 7 जून को आखिरी बार घरेलू सिलेंडर का रेट 29 रुपये बढ़ा था।

बता दें कि युद्ध के चलते भारतीय कंपनियों के लिए एलपीजी की लागत बढ़ गई थी। घरेलू बाजार में सप्लाई को स्थिर बनाए रखने के लिए केंद्र सरकार ने कंपनियों को उत्पादन बढ़ाने के निर्देश दिए थे, ताकि देश में एलपीजी की उपलब्धता पर कोई असर न पड़े।

देश में इस समय एथेनॉल और E20 पेट्रोल की काफी चर्चा हो रही है। E20 फ्यूल का मतलब है ऐसा पेट्रोल जिसमें 20 प्रतिशत इथेनॉल और 80 प्रतिशत साधारण पेट्रोल मिला होता है। देशभर में E20 पेट्रोल को लेकर कई तरह की अफवाहें और भ्रामक दावे सोशल मीडिया पर तेजी से वायरल हो रहे हैं। कोई कह रहा है कि E20 पेट्रोल से इंजन खराब हो जाता है, तो कोई दावा कर रहा है कि इससे गाड़ी का माइलेज बहुत कम हो जाता है। वहीं कुछ लोगों का कहना है कि E20 बनाने में हजारों लीटर पानी बर्बाद होता है।

वहीं इन दावों पर पेट्रोलियम और प्राकृतिक गैस मंत्रालय ने विस्तृत जानकारी जारी करते हुए कहा है कि ये बातें पूरी तरह गलत, बेबुनियाद और वैज्ञानिक तथ्यों से परे हैं। मंत्रालय ने ऑटोमोबाइल अनुसंधान संस्थानों और वाहन उद्योग से जुड़ी कई रिपोर्टों का हवाला देते हुए इन अफवाहों को खारिज किया है।

E20 पेट्रोल क्या है और इसकी इतनी चर्चा क्यों हो रही है?

E20 पेट्रोल ऐसा ईंधन है, जिसमें 20 प्रतिशत इथेनॉल और 80 प्रतिशत पेट्रोल मिलाया जाता है। इथेनॉल एक जैव ईंधन (बायोफ्यूल) है, जिसे गन्ना, मक्का और अतिरिक्त चावल जैसी कृषि फसलों से तैयार किया जाता है। सरकार का कहना है कि पेट्रोल में इथेनॉल मिलाने का उद्देश्य कच्चे तेल के आयात पर निर्भरता कम करना, वाहनों से होने वाले प्रदूषण को घटाना और देश में जैव ईंधन के उत्पादन को बढ़ावा देना है।

भारत ने दिसंबर 2025 तक पूरे देश में पेट्रोल में 20 प्रतिशत इथेनॉल मिलाने का लक्ष्य हासिल कर लिया, जबकि यह लक्ष्य पहले 2030 तक पूरा करना था। इसके बाद सोशल मीडिया पर ई20 पेट्रोल को लेकर कई तरह की चर्चाएं शुरू हो गईं। लोग यह सवाल उठा रहे हैं कि इसका गाड़ी के इंजन, माइलेज, वारंटी और लंबे समय तक वाहन के प्रदर्शन पर क्या असर पड़ेगा।

क्या E20 पेट्रोल से इंजन खराब होता है या माइलेज कम हो जाता है?

केंद्र सरकार ने उन दावों को गलत बताया है, जिनमें कहा जा रहा है कि E20 पेट्रोल से इंजन खराब हो जाता है या गाड़ी का माइलेज बहुत कम हो जाता है। सरकार ने बताया कि इस विषय पर ऑटोमोटिव रिसर्च एसोसिएशन ऑफ इंडिया (एआरएआई), इंडियन ऑयल, भारतीय पेट्रोलियम संस्थान (देहरादून) और सोसाइटी ऑफ इंडियन ऑटोमोबाइल मैन्युफैक्चरर्स (सियाम) ने मिलकर अध्ययन किया था। इसमें अलग-अलग तरह के वाहनों पर E20 पेट्रोल की जांच की गई।

स्टडी के अनुसार, कारों पर 40,000 किलोमीटर और दोपहिया वाहनों पर 20,000 किलोमीटर तक किए गए टेस्च में इंजन की एफिशिएंसी, गाड़ी स्टार्ट होने या धातु और प्लास्टिक के पुर्जों पर कोई बड़ी समस्या नहीं मिली। हालांकि, कुछ पुराने मॉडल की गाड़ियों में रबर के कुछ हिस्सों और गैस्केट को पहले बदलने की जरूरत पड़ सकती है।

केंद्र सरकार का कहना है कि ई20 पेट्रोल, सामान्य पेट्रोल की तुलना में कार्बन मोनोऑक्साइड और हाइड्रोकार्बन जैसे प्रदूषकों का उत्सर्जन कम करता है। सरकार के अनुसार, इथेनॉल की ऑक्टेन क्षमता अधिक होने के कारण ई20 के लिए तैयार किए गए वाहनों में इंजन की नॉकिंग कम होती है, गाड़ी की रफ्तार बेहतर होती है और ड्राइविंग का अनुभव भी अच्छा रहता है।

माइलेज को लेकर सरकार ने कहा है कि E20 पेट्रोल से बहुत ज्यादा माइलेज घटने की बातें सही नहीं हैं। मंत्रालय के मुताबिक, किसी भी गाड़ी का माइलेज सिर्फ ईंधन पर नहीं, बल्कि चलाने के तरीके, टायर में सही हवा, समय पर सर्विस और एयर कंडीशनर के इस्तेमाल जैसी कई बातों पर निर्भर करता है। केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम मंत्री हरदीप सिंह पुरी ने भी कहा कि रेसिंग कारों में लंबे समय से इथेनॉल का इस्तेमाल किया जाता है, क्योंकि इससे गाड़ी का प्रदर्शन बेहतर होता है और इंजन की नॉकिंग कम होती है। उन्होंने माना कि माइलेज में हल्की कमी आ सकती है, लेकिन इसके बारे में पहले से ही साफ जानकारी दी गई है।

क्या E20 पेट्रोल इस्तेमाल करने से गाड़ी का बीमा या वारंटी खत्म हो जाएगी?

केंद्र सरकार ने साफ कहा है कि E20 पेट्रोल इस्तेमाल करने से गाड़ी का बीमा या कंपनी की वारंटी खत्म नहीं होती। पेट्रोलियम मंत्रालय के अनुसार, बीमा कंपनियों और वाहन बनाने वाली कंपनियों ने स्पष्ट किया है कि अगर वाहन कंपनी के तय मानकों के अनुसार ई20 पेट्रोल के लिए उपयुक्त है, तो इस ईंधन के इस्तेमाल से बीमा या वारंटी पर कोई असर नहीं पड़ेगा। सरकार ने सोसाइटी ऑफ इंडियन ऑटोमोबाइल मैन्युफैक्चरर्स (सियाम) का भी हवाला दिया है। सियाम के अनुसार, ई20 पेट्रोल के अनुकूल वाहनों पर कंपनी की वारंटी पहले की तरह लागू रहेगी और ग्राहकों को किसी तरह की चिंता करने की जरूरत नहीं है।

क्या इथेनॉल बनाने में बहुत ज़्यादा पानी का इस्तेमाल होता है?

सरकार का कहना है कि एक लीटर इथेनॉल बनाने में 10,000 लीटर पानी लगने का दावा सही नहीं है। सरकार के मुताबिक, धान की खेती में इस्तेमाल होने वाले पूरे पानी को इथेनॉल उत्पादन से जोड़ना गलत है, क्योंकि धान और गेहूं की खेती सबसे पहले देश की खाद्य जरूरतों को पूरा करने के लिए की जाती है। जब जरूरत से ज्यादा चावल बच जाता है, तभी उसका इस्तेमाल इथेनॉल बनाने में किया जाता है।

सरकार का यही कहना गन्ने के मामले में भी है। उसके अनुसार, पहले देश में चीनी की जरूरत पूरी की जाती है और उसके बाद ही अतिरिक्त गन्ने या उससे बने कच्चे माल का उपयोग इथेनॉल बनाने के लिए किया जाता है।

सरकार ने यह भी बताया कि अब इथेनॉल बनाने में मक्के को ज्यादा महत्व दिया जा रहा है, क्योंकि मक्का उगाने में धान के मुकाबले काफी कम पानी लगता है। फिलहाल इथेनॉल उत्पादन में इस्तेमाल होने वाले कच्चे माल में मक्के की हिस्सेदारी 40 प्रतिशत से अधिक हो चुकी है।

सरकार के अनुसार, इथेनॉल बनाने की प्रक्रिया के दौरान एक लीटर इथेनॉल तैयार करने में आमतौर पर केवल 3 से 5 लीटर पानी की जरूरत होती है। इसके अलावा कई आधुनिक कारखानों में पानी को दोबारा इस्तेमाल करने की तकनीक अपनाई जाती है, जिससे पानी की खपत और भी कम हो जाती है।

EBP प्रोग्राम से क्या फायदे हुए हैं?

सरकार का कहना है कि इथेनॉल मिश्रित पेट्रोल (ईबीपी) योजना से देश को आर्थिक और पर्यावरण दोनों स्तर पर बड़े फायदे हुए हैं। सरकार के मुताबिक, साल 2014-15 के बाद इस योजना की वजह से 1.90 लाख करोड़ रुपये से ज्यादा की विदेशी मुद्रा बचाई गई है। साथ ही किसानों को 1.60 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक का भुगतान किया गया है।

सरकार के अनुसार, इस योजना से करीब 930 लाख मीट्रिक टन कार्बन डाइऑक्साइड (CO₂) का उत्सर्जन कम हुआ है और 310 लाख मीट्रिक टन से ज्यादा कच्चे तेल की जगह इथेनॉल का इस्तेमाल किया गया है। इससे पेट्रोलियम पर देश की निर्भरता घटाने में भी मदद मिली है।

सरकार ने यह भी बताया कि इथेनॉल उत्पादन की सालाना क्षमता 2013-14 में करीब 38 करोड़ लीटर थी, जो अब बढ़कर लगभग 2,000 करोड़ लीटर हो गई है। सरकार का कहना है कि पेट्रोल में 20 प्रतिशत से ज्यादा इथेनॉल मिलाने का फैसला तभी लिया जाएगा, जब वैज्ञानिक जांच, परीक्षण और वाहन कंपनियों से चर्चा के बाद संबंधित विशेषज्ञ संस्था की मंजूरी मिल जाएगी।
