The Odyssey: क्रिस्टोफर नोलन की आने वाली शानदार फिल्म ‘द ओडिसी’ रिलीज़ होने में बस दो दिन बचे हैं और फैंस अभी से सीटें बुक कर रहे हैं। यह फिल्म दुनिया भर के सिनेमाघरों में रिलीज हो रही है, लेकिन फैंस इसके सबसे बेहतरीन अनुभव का मजा IMAX 1570 में ले सकते हैं – जो डायरेक्टर का पसंदीदा फॉर्मेट भी है – हालांकि यह फॉर्मेट कुछ ही सिनेमाघरों में उपलब्ध है।

‘द ओडिसी’ पहली ऐसी फीचर फिल्म है जिसे पूरी तरह से IMAX कैमरों से शूट किया गया है। वहीं, दुनिया भर में सिर्फ़ 41 सिनेमाघर ही ऐसे हैं जिनमें IMAX 1570 फॉर्मेट की सुविधा है। कहा जाता है कि IMAX 1570 अब तक का सबसे हाई-रिज़ॉल्यूशन वाला फिल्म फॉर्मेट है। इसका नाम इसके 70mm चौड़े फिल्म स्टॉक की वजह से पड़ा है, जिसमें हर फ्रेम में 15 परफोरेशन होते हैं। इसी से शानदार इमेज क्वालिटी और इमर्सिव विज़ुअल्स मिलते हैं।

क्रिस्टोफर नोलन लंबे समय से इस फॉर्मेट को सपोर्ट करते रहे हैं और उन्होंने ‘टेनेट’, ‘ओपेनहाइमर’, ‘डनकर्क’ और ‘द डार्क नाइट’ जैसी फ़िल्मों में इसका काफी इस्तेमाल किया है। IMAX 1570 में ‘द ओडिसी’ की शूटिंग करना कोई आसान काम नहीं था।

डिजिटल फिल्ममेकिंग की तुलना में इसका प्रोडक्शन कहीं ज़्यादा मुश्किल है, क्योंकि इसके कैमरे बहुत बड़े होते हैं (वज़न लगभग 180 kg होता है), ये बहुत ज़्यादा शोर करते हैं और हर तीन मिनट में नए फ़िल्म स्टॉक की जरूरत पड़ती है। बेहतरीन क्वालिटी के बावजूद, IMAX 1570 तकनीक अब कम ही देखने को मिलती है।

पिछले दस सालों में ज्यादातर थिएटर डिजिटल प्रोजेक्शन पर शिफ्ट हो गए हैं, इसलिए दुनिया भर में अब सिर्फ 41 थिएटर ही ओरिजिनल 1570 फॉर्मेट में फिल्में दिखा पाते हैं। भारत में तो ऐसा एक भी थिएटर नहीं है। ऑस्ट्रेलिया का IMAX मेलबर्न उन्हीं में से एक है। 2015 में इस थिएटर का फिल्म प्रोजेक्टर हटा दिया गया था, लेकिन दो साल बाद इसे फिर से लगा दिया गया, क्योंकि क्रिस्टोफर नोलन चाहते थे कि ‘डनकर्क’ (Dunkirk) फ़िल्म दुनिया भर के IMAX थिएटर में 1570 फॉर्मेट में दिखाई जाए।

Southern Hemisphere का एकमात्र ऐसा थिएटर है, जहां ‘द ओडिसी’ (The Odyssey) का ओरिजिनल IMAX 1570 प्रिंट दिखाया जा रहा है। मेलबर्न की बड़ी IMAX स्क्रीन भी लोगों को आकर्षित करती है। यह दुनिया की सबसे बड़ी 1.43:1 IMAX स्क्रीन है, जो 32 मीटर चौड़ी और 23 मीटर ऊंची है। IMAX 1570 स्क्रीनिंग की सीमित संख्या के कारण, क्रिस्टोफर नोलन के फैंस के लिए इस फिल्म को देखना किसी स्पीचुअल जैसा हो गया है।

क्रिस्टोफर नोलन के फ़ैन्स इस हफ्ते रिलीज होने वाली ‘द ओडिसी’ को देखने के लिए तुर्की, सिंगापुर, मलेशिया, जर्मनी और यहां तक कि लॉस एंजिल्स से भी आ रहे हैं। कुछ फिल्म प्रेमी तो स्क्रीनिंग के समय के हिसाब से अपनी छुट्टियां भी प्लान कर रहे हैं। असली IMAX 1570 सिनेमाघरों की दुनिया भर में मौजूदगी में कई महाद्वीपों के प्रतिष्ठित वैज्ञानिक संस्थान और बड़े कमर्शियल मल्टीप्लेक्स शामिल हैं।

कुछ दिन पहले मीडिया में छपी खबरों के अनुसार अंतरराष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट परिषद एकदिवसीय विश्वकप के लिए सुपर 6 प्रणाली का क्रियान्वन करने वाला था जो कि साल 2003 की प्रणाली से मेल खाती थी। लेकिन अब ने ना केवल एकदिवसीय विश्वकप में सुपर 6 की जगह सुपर 7 चरण बल्कि टी-20 विश्वकप में सुपर 8 की जगह सुपर 10 चरण प्रणाली अपनाई है। इसे फैंस आसानी से इन दो टेबल से समझ सकते हैं।

एकदिवसीय विश्वकप 2027

टूर्नामेंट के लिए 12वें से 14वें स्थान पर क्वालीफाई करने वाली टीम पहले सुपर सीरीज दौर खेलेंगी। इसमें सबसे अच्छा प्रदर्शन करने वाली टीम दूसरे चरण में पहुंचेगी जहां छह टीमों को दो समूहों में बांटा जाएगा।प्रत्येक ग्रुप की शीर्ष तीन टीम और दोनों ग्रुप में अगली सबसे बेहतर टीम Super-7 चरण के लिए क्वालीफाई करेंगी (पहले यहां Super-6 चरण होना था)। सुपर-7 चरण की चार सर्वश्रेष्ठ टीम सेमीफाइनल में पहुंचेंगी।

इस टूर्नामेंट में 10 टीम सीधे क्वालीफाई करेंगी। तीन मेजबान देशों में से दक्षिण अफ्रीका और जिम्बाब्वे पूर्ण सदस्य देश होने के कारण अपने आप क्वालीफाई करेंगे। तीसरा मेजबान देश नामीबिया एसोसिएट सदस्य होने के कारण सीधे क्वालीफाई नहीं कर पाएगा।वनडे रैंकिंग की शीर्ष आठ टीमें बाकी 10 स्थानों को पूरा करेंगी। बची हुई चार टीम का फैसला वैश्विक क्वालीफायर के जरिए होगा।

T20I विश्व कप 2028

ऑस्ट्रेलिया और न्यूजीलैंड में 2028 में होने वाले टी20 विश्व कप में ग्रुप चरण के बाद अब सुपर-8 की जगह सुपर-10 चरण होगा।टूर्नामेंट में चार-चार टीम के पांच ग्रुप बनाए जाएंगे। प्रत्येक ग्रुप की शीर्ष दो टीम सुपर-10 में पहुंचेंगी।

पिछले चरण में सुपर-8 के प्रत्येक ग्रुप से शीर्ष दो टीम सीधे सेमीफाइनल में पहुंचती थीं। नए प्रारूप में अब प्रत्येक ग्रुप की केवल शीर्ष टीम ही सीधे अंतिम चार में पहुंचेगी। ग्रुप में दूसरे स्थान पर रहने वाली टीम विपरीत ग्रुप की तीसरे स्थान वाली टीम के खिलाफ एलिमिनेटर मुकाबला खेलेंगी जिससे प्रतियोगिता में एक नया रोमांच जुड़ जाएगा।

वहीं 2026 टी20 विश्व कप में खेलने वाली लेकिन स्वतः क्वालीफाई नहीं कर पाने वाली बाकी टीम सीधे वैश्विक क्वालीफायर में पहुंचेंगी।वैश्विक क्वालीफायर के अन्य आठ स्थानों के लिए क्षेत्रीय क्वालीफिकेशन होगा। इनमें अफ्रीका, एशिया और यूरोप से दो-दो टीम जबकि अमेरिका और पूर्वी एशिया प्रशांत क्षेत्र से एक-एक टीम क्वालीफाई करेगी।वैश्विक क्वालीफायर में प्रत्येक क्षेत्र की शीर्ष टीम और कुल मिलाकर अगली तीन सर्वश्रेष्ठ टीम 2028 टी20 विश्व कप के लिए क्वालीफाई करेंगी।

Royal Enfield will retail the motorcycle through its ‘Drop’ format, with sales staggered across global markets between July 27 and July 30. India’s allocation of 25 motorcycles will go on sale on July 30 at 7pm IST.

The Rough Crafts edition is mechanically unchanged from the standard Shotgun 650 and continues to use the same 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled engine producing 47hp and 52.3Nm, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Its updates are limited to cosmetic and equipment enhancements inspired by the Caliber Royale custom, making it a more exclusive, collector-focused version of the Shotgun 650.

What to expect from the updated Maruti Brezza

Maruti Suzuki will debut the updated Brezza on July 24, 2026. This will be the first update to the second-generation Brezza, which was first introduced in 2022. Bookings for the compact SUV have already commenced for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Ahead of its debut, here’s everything you can expect from the updated Maruti Brezza.

What exterior changes could the updated Maruti Brezza get?

Maruti Suzuki had recently shared a teaser of the updated Brezza online, hinting at new design changes. These include a revised grille design with a thin red strip connecting the headlamps and a red trim for the lower side of the front bumper. Additionally, there’s cladding on the lower side of the doors, while the ‘Brezza’ branding on the tailgate is done in a new font. 

A new design for the alloy wheels was partially spotted and is likely to have a 4-spoke design as seen on the prototypes. The front bumper is restyled, with the squarish fog lamps positioned slightly higher, a silver trim, and a silver faux skid plate. Meanwhile, the LED headlamps with L-shaped DRLs and slim LED tail lamps are retained.

What interior changes and feature additions are likely on the updated Maruti Brezza

Maruti is expected to keep the overall cabin layout similar to the current version, albeit with an updated colour scheme and trim materials. A glimpse of the cabin from the teaser showcased an HUD unit and a free-standing infotainment screen, which was also there on the current version. The latter could be upgraded from the current 9-inch display to a larger 10.-inch unit from the Victoris.

Additionally, a new comfort feature was spotted in the form of curved side bolstering for the rear headrests. Features like a powered driver’s seat, front-seat ventilation and ambient lighting are expected to make it to the equipment list.  Level 2 ADAS could be part of the safety kit, along with front parking sensors, as the latter was spotted on testing mules.

What powertrains will the updated Maruti Brezza offer?

The Brezza is the only compact SUV in the segment that does not offer a turbo-petrol engine. This could change as the Fronx’s 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol unit is likely to make it on the Brezza. A 6-speed manual gearbox is likely to be paired with this engine, as a prototype of the Brezza was spotted in February 2026 with this transmission. A CNG kit could be paired with this engine as well.

If powered by the 1.0-litre mill, the Brezza would be eligible for the lower 18 percent GST rate compared to the 28 percent GST rate for the current version’s 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine.

What is the expected price of the updated Maruti Brezza

The substantial introduction of upgrades over the current version is likely to make the Brezza slightly pricier. The outgoing Brezza has an ex-showroom price of Rs 8.26 lakh to Rs 12.86 lakh. It will continue to take on rivals like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Kia Sonet and Syros.

Harley-Davidson has expanded its cruiser lineup with the introduction of the Deadwood, a new factory-built bobber-inspired motorcycle that pays homage to the stripped-down Harley-Davidsons popular in the years following World War II. The 2026 Deadwood will be sold exclusively in the US and Canada markets, where it is priced at USD 17,999 (around Rs 17.32 lakh, before taxes).

The Deadwood will make its public debut at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on August 7

The Deadwood gets an almost entirely blacked-out finish, with the engine, exhaust, handlebar, fork, wheels and lighting all finished in black. Chrome is limited to the lower rocker covers and pushrod tubes, while Denim Black paint is offered as the sole colour option.

Other styling highlights include a solo ‘tuck-and-roll’ seat, wire-spoke wheels, chopped windscreen and the absence of saddlebags, leaving the Softail’s hardtail-inspired rear section exposed. Harley says the 648mm seat height makes it one of the lowest motorcycles in its current line-up.

Power comes from Harley-Davidson’s 1,923cc, Milwaukee-Eight, 117 cubic inches, V-twin engine producing 98hp and 163Nm, mated to a six-speed gearbox. It is paired with a 2-into-1 exhaust and can be upgraded with Harley’s Screamin’ Eagle performance parts.

Despite its retro styling, the Deadwood comes equipped with a comprehensive electronics package that includes cornering ABS, cornering traction control, drag torque slip control, TPMS and riding modes that includes – Road, Sport and Rain.

Other equipment includes all-LED lighting, a 5-inch analogue instrument cluster with an LCD display, USB-C charging, preload-adjustable rear suspension and 49mm front fork.

The Deadwood will make its public debut at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally on August 7, which is the largest biker gathering globally, drawing over 4.50 lakh riders. It will subsequently go on sale in the United States and Canadian markets.

The upcoming scooter, which was recently spotted testing on public roads, is expected to stay largely faithful to the EL01 concept first showcased at Community Day 2025, even the design patent filed earlier this year support this claim. Spy images revealed a handlebar-mounted headlight, a wide LED DRL integrated into the front apron and styling that closely resembles the design patent filed by the company earlier.

The EL platform is Ather’s first all-new vehicle architecture since the launch of the 450 series and has been developed with greater scalability, manufacturing efficiency and versatility in mind. It will underpin the company’s future electric scooter range, with the first model expected to target the Rs 1 lakh-1.25 lakh price bracket, allowing Ather to compete in the high-volume mass-market segment.

Alongside the new scooter, Ather has confirmed it will unveil a range of innovations across charging, software and the wider ownership ecosystem, with more details to be announced at the event.

Community Day has become Ather’s flagship annual event, where it showcases its future product and technology roadmap. Last year’s edition saw the unveiling of the EL platform, the Redux concept, next-generation fast-charging technology and AtherStack 7.0, with this year’s event expected to focus on bringing that new platform into production.

Honda‘s upcoming V3-powered naked motorcycle has taken another step towards production after design drawings filed with IP Australia were made public. The application, submitted on March 26, claims priority from an earlier Japanese design filing dated October 2, 2025, which has not yet been published. As a result, the Australian filing offers the first public look at what appears to be the production-spec version of Honda’s V3R prototype.

Honda V3R design patented: What to expect?

The design closely mirrors the V3R prototype unveiled at EICMA 2025, retaining its muscular streetfighter proportions, sharp bodywork, compact tail section, single-sided swingarm and prominent radiator shrouds. Unlike many concept motorcycles that undergo significant visual changes before reaching production, the registered design suggests Honda intends to carry over much of the prototype’s styling to the final production model.

At the heart of the motorcycle is Honda’s new 900cc, 75-degree V3 engine paired with what the company says is the world’s first electrically driven compressor for a motorcycle. Unlike a conventional mechanically driven supercharger, the electric compressor operates independently of engine speed, enabling boost to be delivered across the rev range without relying on crankshaft drive or exhaust gases. Honda says the system delivers the performance of a larger-capacity naturally aspirated engine while retaining the compact dimensions and efficiency of a middleweight powertrain.

The latest design filing also follows a series of recent patent applications that indicate Honda’s ambitions extend beyond a single V3-powered naked bike. The patents depict the electrically driven compressor being evaluated across multiple engine configurations and motorcycle platforms, including touring, naked and supersport models. While patent filings do not necessarily translate into production models, they suggest Honda is developing the e-compressor as a modular technology that could eventually be deployed across a wider range of motorcycles. If that proves to be the case, the V3R could serve as the launch model for an entirely new family of Honda motorcycles built around the company’s latest powertrain technology.

The V3R will also mark Honda’s return to forced induction for the first time in more than four decades. The company last offered forced-induction motorcycles in the form of the CX500 Turbo and CX650 Turbo in the early 1980s, both of which used exhaust-driven turbochargers. Honda’s new approach replaces the turbocharger with an electrically driven compressor, allowing boost to be controlled independently of engine speed while improving packaging and reducing lag.

Honda has yet to announce a production timeline or reveal full technical specifications beyond those showcased with the prototype. However, the publication of production-style design drawings, combined with the growing body of patent activity surrounding the V3 platform, suggests the company is steadily progressing towards production. If launched, the V3R is likely to become the first model in what could eventually evolve into a broader family of Honda motorcycles powered by its new electrically assisted forced-induction technology.

In India, JSW Motors will launch its own standalone SUV based on the Jaecoo J5 under a technology and component licensing agreement with Chery, the Chinese automaker that owns the Jaecoo brand.

A functional grille with vertical slats confirms it is the ICE version of the Jaecoo J5

Although the Jaecoo J5-based SUV’s test mule is heavily camouflaged, a few design elements are visible. Among these is a functional grille with vertical slats, confirming it is the ICE version, as the EV features a blanked-off grille. The sleek LED headlights with LED DRL surrounds, however, are the same as those on the EV version. The bumper has a clean design, but it seems to miss out on the fog lamps offered with the international model.

In profile, the international-spec model gets 18-inch wheels. At the rear, slim wraparound LED taillights can be spotted. On the international model, these taillights are joined by a black trim with ‘Jaecoo’ badging in the centre.

The interior design mimics that of the all-electric model

The spy shots also reveal a large vertically oriented infotainment system on the dashboard, likely the same as the international model’s 13.2-inch unit. The international model also gets an 8.8-inch driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, an 8-speaker Sony sound system, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate and a wireless phone charger. It will be interesting to see what features are offered with the India-spec model sold by JSW Motors.

In terms of safety, the international model gets 7 airbags, a 540-degree camera (surround-view camera with an under-bonnet view function), a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and an advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite. 

Jaecoo J5-based ICE SUV: Expected powertrain

Offered with a turbo-petrol and a strong hybrid petrol engine internationally

Depending on the market, the ICE-powered Jaecoo J5 gets either a turbo-petrol or a strong-hybrid engine option. The 1.5-litre turbo-petrol produces up to 156hp and 275Nm, and is mated to either a 7-speed DCT or a CVT, depending on the market. It allows for a 0-100kph sprint time of 10.2 seconds 

A strong-hybrid version has a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo-petrol engine and an electric motor powered by a 1.83 kWh lithium-ion battery. Combined, this setup produces 224hp and 295Nm. It does a 0-100kph sprint in 7.9 seconds. Jaecoo claims a fuel efficiency of 18.9kpl, allowing a total range of around 1,000km. It will be interesting to see which powertrain option is offered with the India-spec model.

JSW Motors is expected to start its India operations with the Diwali launch of the Jetour T2-derived hybrid SUV, followed by launches of the SUVs derived from the Jaecoo J5 and iCaur V23. Upon launch, JSW Motors’ Jaecoo J5-based ICE SUV will lock horns with midsize SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Renault Duster and Nissan Tekton. The EV version will rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Sierra EV, Vinfast VF6 and Maruti Suzuki eVitara.

Hero MotoCorp‘s upcoming Karizma XMR 250 has been spotted without camouflage ahead of its India launch. First unveiled at EICMA 2024 before making its Indian debut at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, the fully faired motorcycle now appears to be in production-ready form, suggesting its market launch is drawing closer.

Hero Karizma XMR 250 spied: What’s new?

While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the Karizma XMR 250 features a handful of visual updates over the existing XMR 210. The projector LED headlamp and boomerang-shaped DRLs appear to have been carried over, but the surrounding fairing extends further beneath the headlamp, giving the front end a sharper, more aggressive appearance. It also retains the tall windscreen and integrated winglets first seen on the show bike.

In profile, the XMR 250 wears bolder graphics than the XMR 210, whose fairing has a comparatively simpler, single-tone finish. It is also equipped with gold-finished USD forks, a sculpted fuel tank, clip-on handlebars mounted above the top yoke and split seats. Unlike the Xtreme 250R, which uses a rear tyre hugger-mounted number plate holder, the Karizma XMR 250 retains a conventional tail-mounted number plate bracket.

Interestingly, while the Karizma XMR 250 showcased at EICMA 2024 wore a white-and-red paint scheme with similar graphics, the motorcycle seen here sports a black base colour. This hints that Hero could offer the new Karizma in at least two colour options at launch, although additional paint schemes cannot be ruled out.

Hero Karizma XMR 250 engine details:

Unlike the current Karizma XMR, which is powered by a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 25.5hp and 20.4Nm, the XMR 250 uses Hero’s new 250cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC single-cylinder engine shared with the Xtreme 250R. The motor produces 30hp and 25Nm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
 

Having recently ridden the Xtreme 250R, we found this engine to be among the quicker performers in the segment, delivering brisk acceleration and a strong mid-range. The Karizma XMR 250 is expected to pair this powertrain with the same trellis frame and feature a TFT display with smartphone connectivity and navigation, full-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS and a USB charging port.

Karizma XMR 250 launch details:

With the production-spec motorcycle now surfacing undisguised, Hero could launch the Karizma XMR 250 in the weeks ahead. Prices are expected to start at over Rs 2 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it above the current Karizma XMR 210, which is priced from Rs 1.86 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will become Hero MotoCorp’s flagship faired motorcycle and rival the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, KTM RC 200 and the upcoming Yamaha R2.
