BMW has launched the i5 Long Wheelbase (LWB) in India at an introductory price of Rs 79.6 lakh. The electric sedan is locally assembled at BMW Group’s Chennai plant, with bookings having opened in August. The i5 LWB is offered in a single eDrive35L M Sport variant, while a limited-run First Edition is also available at the same price. BMW says all 99 First Edition units sold out before the launch. The i5 LWB gets an 81.6kWh battery and a 268hp electric motor, with a claimed 669km MIDC range.
